As promised, we're starting a new series of blogs where we'll tell you about future changes in Shadow Fight 3. Normally, we limit ourselves to announcements of new content, but every year we work on the depth of all the existing elements of the game, and since that affects every single player, we decided that it would be strange not to mention it. The first thing this digest will touch upon is the item upgrade system.
In the 4 years the game has existed, there have been a huge number of changes around the upgrading of in-game items. However, we haven't revealed much about what was behind each of them. By now, we've achieved quite a sophisticated system, but there are still numerous gaps that we need to fill to improve the gaming experience.
For example, right now when you get any card for an item that exists in your collection, the progress is added to the item's upgrade bar. However, the rarer the item is and the more upgrades it has, the greater the number of cards you need. For long-term players of the game, the number of cards required can go through the roof. As a consequence, whatever the rewards are, they don't get much value from them.
We've decided that it would be better to offer the opportunity to upgrade faster, without waiting for the bar to fill up completely. Now the progress along the bar incrementally increases the power of the item. This means that getting almost any item card will increase the item's power and give you the opportunity to immediately apply the advantage you've gained. Furthermore, this doesn't affect the overall changes to item power for reaching a new level. Once the bar is full, the value remains the same. Our goal is to allow you to see the upgrades faster while not increasing the gap between players.
