Trekking poles
Tingyu’s research and development began in April 2017. My friends in the Jingxing group suggested that I develop a double minaret. From then on, we began to plan to make such a one. We did make a bigger double spire in 16 years, but considering the audience, we finally gave up. This is a big double spire that can accommodate about 8 people, as shown below:

In 2017, my friends brought up another angle and it was a spur. Two people from Tingyu have revised the version 5 times, mainly to optimize and adjust the layout and internal account space. The overall idea has not changed. I would like to thank several friends who helped test Listening Rain: JOHN, Mu Mu, Phoenix, Contra, and many friends who gave us opinions. Tingyu 2 has been tested in several rounds. I have tried it from western Sichuan to Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and experienced strong wind, heavy rain and heavy snow. I will mainly introduce some points of my design of Tingyu 2, which was designed from the beginning. It has not changed, throughout. The following picture shows the space for listening to the rain:
1. Listen to the rain 2 must be able to resist wind
On Tingyu 2, I tried a complete triangle stitching to make each side of the tent very stable. Gnie’s strong wind test proved the same. Many double spires abroad, such as Zpacks' Duplex side wind resistance, will be the weak link of this tent.
2. Listen to the rain 2 try to adapt to the terrain as much as possible
China’s terrain and environment are more complex than any other country. When designing tents, we also need to consider the adaptability. The severe winter in the northeast, the sultry heat in Guangzhou, the damp and heat in the southwest, the high-altitude wind, and the cold and hot summer in Jiangsu and Zhejiang all require consider. Therefore, in addition to designing two sets of convection ventilation windows, the angle of the tent can be adjusted with trekking poles, and the ventilation can be adjusted. 3. Listen to the rain 2, try to have more ways to play
Tingyu 2 can be used with wind ropes and trekking poles to design more ways to play, and can be used as a canopy and pergola in summer.

The twin spires are bigger. The tent has condensation. With the design of the inner tent, it is enough to prevent people from directly touching the outer tent. The inner tent of the pyramid is the same as the self-supporting tent.
