Insurance Policy law in Denmark
Companies and companies will often have a combined building insurance policy in Denmark , which also covers life and non-life insurance and health insurance. Combined insurers allow for the creation of a group insurance in which life or non-life insurers can take out “life insurance” in addition to their private insurance.
In addition, insurance claims are subject to restrictions under Section 29 of the Insurance Contracts Act, which contains general rules specifically applicable to an insurance claim. In addition, the law requires insured persons to limit the scope of insurance events.
A query is not possible if it is a private insurance, including life, accident or health insurance. In Denmark, a classic car must be insured for a car older than 50 years, but if you have a classic car insurance, you can take out any policy you want (Runa). If your policy is a consumer contract, you may differ from the insurer’s services. Any provision in the consumer insurance contract which deviates from a protection or obligation provision is therefore in most cases not legally valid.
If the insured person makes a false statement without knowing (or should have known) that it is false, the insurer is not bound by the policy. However, if the policyholder knows, or should know, that the fact is indeed false and fraudulently does not disclose it, then the insurance contract is void. The insured person does not know the facts that are relevant to the insurance, although he should know that they are false if he knows them.
