Reviewing anime that is trending Now-a-days
Shounen anime is plentiful. Okay, calling them a dime a dozen is a bit harsh given that some of the most popular anime of all time are shounen anime, such as One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and so on. But what we're getting at is that there are a lot of them, and they all follow a very similar formula for the most part.
You have the weak, clueless protagonist who has a lot of potential and then triumphs over the seemingly overpowered enemy with a lot of hard work and the power of friendship. The adversary is always (usually) surprised to have his a$ handed to him in the end, but that's how it goes.
The other variant is the secretly OP (and possibly clueless) protagonist who conceals his abilities only to reveal them later. When the bad guys show up, they are surprised that they were beaten. That's how it usually goes, with the usual tropes of a funny or perverted mentor figure, a broody edgelord support character, and so on.
Jujutsu Kaisen has all of the above, and when you first start watching it, it feels extremely predictable, simply because it checks all of the above boxes. The show, on the other hand, pulls the rug out from under you by throwing curveball after curveball at you.
Don't get us wrong: the show isn't just doing random things at random; Jujutsu Kaisen is purposefully shaking up the shounen formula, and it does it very well.
This is a shounen that feels a lot more modern; actions have consequences, plot armour isn't a thing, a single guy can't save everyone, and so on. Even the way they use their powers in the anime is done in a way that cannot be scaled to absurd levels, as is common in shounen anime.
Nobody will ever become a God. This, we believe, is a good thing. Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen is a must-see for fans of the shounen genre looking for something that not only tries to be different, but succeeds.
Where can I see jujutsu kaisen?
There are many websites on the internet where you can watch anime, but some of them are like finding a car key underwater, you guessed it "ads." So here's my suggestion:
Kaisen jujutsu (kickassanime)
Kaisen jujutsu (9anime)
NOTE: We are not endorsing or advertising any website; this is simply a recommendation from a friend. The websites shown above have no advertisements or, in some cases, only one advertisement. Don't get mad; it's better to fight a single zombie than a swarm of them.
