Why you should make your own powder highlighter

The two main reasons you should make your own powder highlighter are that you can make it for a fraction of the price and you can customize it to fit your skin tone. Powder highlighters are a quick and easy way to customize the color on your skin.

Even though I’m a big fan of best-selling face powders, I know there’s a lot we can do without them. They contain large amounts of harsh ingredients like fragrance and color additives. When we’re putting these powders on our skin, they’re stripping the skin of its natural oils, making it take longer to absorb into the skin and leaving us with dry flaky skin.

Making your own highlighter will make your skin glow without the harsh chemicals and fillers. This makes perfect sense since minerals and other trace elements from the earth are what give shine to your skin. The ingredients we use are far from what you’d find in an expensive face powder, so it will be a one-time expenditure and you’ll get to enjoy the benefits for weeks to come!

1. Make a paste by mixing one part powdered sugar with two parts water and allowing it to sit for ten minutes. You can purchase pre-milled sugar without being crushed, but in my opinion, the powder is too abrasive if you are trying to use it to highlight your skin.

2. Take one teaspoon of the cream and use a fluffy brush to spread it around your face, preferably over your blotchy spots. You should see some pink where the lush powdered sunshine touched your skin.

3. Leave it on your face for five to ten minutes, or until your skin has absorbed the product. You can remove your powder not only for a refreshed glow but also to limit the amount of time your skin dries out because of increased humidity. Once you’ve finished, gently pat yourself dry.
