zkDay Istanbul: Presenting Kinetex Zk Light Clients
At the zkDay event in Istanbul, Tigran Bolshoi, co-founder of Kinetex, showcased Kinetex Zk light clients designed for cross-chain transactions. The aim of these clients is to provide a more secure and efficient alternative to conventional cross-chain bridges. Bolshoi pointed out that cross-chain bridges pose safety risks, require high gas payments, result in lengthy wait times, and charge excessive commissions. Therefore, finding ways to make cross-chain transfers more cost-effective and time-efficient is crucial for the future of DeFi.
During his presentation, Bolshoi suggested that light clients could be the perfect solution for the current challenges in the industry and could offer significant benefits. Light clients can optimize transaction validation, reducing time and related costs. Traditional light clients require computing all blockchain headers from the beginning or where they ended last time. However, Kinetex Zk light clients can verify every block using just one proof, thanks to the implementation of zero-knowledge technology (Zk), making the process more secure and efficient.
