Dymension Incentivized Testnet Guide — Step by step.
Dymension is a network of easily deployable modular blockchains called RollApps. At the center of the Dymension network is the Dymension Hub, which provides consensus, security, and liquidity for RollApps.
RollApps are native blockchains built with the RDK (Dymension’s RollApp Development Kit) based on the popular Cosmos SDK. RollApp developers can choose any necessary settings for their business logic, choose their native token and the application environment that is necessary for a particular blockchain.
In simple terms, the project is Layer 2 for the scalability of the Cosmos blockchain. For a deeper understanding of the project idea, you can study their documentation.
In February 2023, the project raised $6.7 million in funding. Big Brain Holdings, Stratos, Matchbox, Cogitent Venture and others took part in the round.
What we know right now is that the project is planning to launch an incentivized testnet, so now we are participating in the available testnet, which may provide access to the incentivized testnet before the blockchain is launched on the main network.
In the guide below, we will tell you about all the actions that you need to complete on the test network in order to qualify for a possible airdrop or other rewards from the project:
Installing a wallet
- Visit Keplr;
- Click “Install Keplr”.
Getting ready for further interactions
- Visit the project’s website;
- Click “Connect Wallet”.
- You’ll get an error on the website, switch to Keplr and find the added “Dymension Hub 35-C” network;
- Copy the wallet address;
- Visit the project’s Discord;
- Get verified and go to the “Intro-lounge” channel, ping any mod online with a small greeting and ask to be allowed on the server;
- Switch to the “Faucet” channel and post the following command `$request your wallet address 35c-hub`.
Doing IBC transfers
- Switch to the “IBC” tab;
- Select any network from the drop down list;
- When clicking on a network name, you’ll be offered to add it to MetaMask or Keplr. Add it.
- Enter the amount of tokens to transfer to the chosen network;
- Click “Transfer” and confirm the transaction.
- If you want to transfer assets from a different network, add the network to your wallet and request tokens through the project’s Discord as shown in the example above.
Delegating tokens
- Select any validator from the list;
- Click on the ellipsis icon to the right of the validator;
- Click “Delegate”.
- Scroll up to see the “My delegations” section;
- Click on the ellipsis icon;
- Here you can delegate, redelegate and withdraw tokens (note that withdrawals take 21), I suggest testing all these functions.
Leaving feedback
- Visit Discord;
- Switch to the #35-c-feedback-and-support channel and, just in case, the #feedback channel;
- Post your feedback regarding the platform.
Leaving your wallet address
- Find this tweet;
- Enter your wallet address and click “Reply”.
