About EthSign
EthSign is building the interface between Web2 and Web3 by connecting legal agreement and smart contract. We present open-sourced infrastructures and scenario-specific applications to accelerate Web3 at a global scale.
EthSign Signatures is the latest version of our e-signing product that is completely revamped to optimize for user experience and functionality. EthSign Signatures provides the same functionality, UX, and legal validity as Web 2.0 e-signing platform, while leveraging the power of blockchains to enhance transparency and security. Users can upload documents, create signing fields, customize annotation objects like text fields & checkboxes, invite co-signers, track signing status, download documents, and view events of the entire agreement lifecycle.
Technically and visually, EthSign Signatures has been rebuilt from the ground up based on extensive research and user feedback. Our new backend has been aggressively optimized to reduce gas consumption by 9x while preserving the integrity of our ability to effectively capture intent and consent. This is accomplished by implementing EIP-712 compliant ECDSA, emitting solidity events to our own subgraph, and permanently storing documents in Arweave via Bundlr.
Functionally, we are proud to add new features including Keyless Encryption (as opposed to password encryption), which enables native encryption and decryption using encryption keys derived from the user's private key, and support for specifying a signing order between co-signers. EthSign Signatures takes a practical approach to decentralization to maximize usability while preserving decentralization. This looks like hosting web content on AWS to boost accessibility while also hosting on IPFS and Arweave.
The project at the initial stage raised about 13 million dollars from investment funds!
We start our journey.
To qualify for a retrodrop from this project, you will need to complete the following activities, let's start!
You will need some Polygon to pay commissions!!
Go to the main page of the official site and click on the "Try Signing (BETA)" button in the upper right corner as shown in the screenshot.
We use one of three options, we use Metamask.
The next step is to click on the "Upload Contract" button and upload any document you have in PDF format.
We are waiting for the document to load and click the "Next" button.
Next, click "Add Myself" after the button "Add" and "Next"
This window appears, you can "Rename" it, then click the "Next" button.
One of the most important steps. Here we need to sign this document.
We need to click on the boxes with signatures and drag them onto the PDF file itself, as shown in the screenshot!
If you do everything correctly, the "Next" button will become active, press it and proceed to the next step.
Create a password (be sure to write it down) and click "Send"
Confirming transaction pop-ups until the "Go to home page" window appears.
Almost done!
We are waiting for the window with the signed document to appear, press the "Sign Now" button
and enter your password (invented earlier) and press the "Decrypt" button.
Next, make a signature ( 1 ) and enter any text ( 2 )
If everything is done correctly, you will see this page! We press the "Finish" button and confirm all transactions, after which we return to the main page.
After all confirmations, you will see a ready, signed document that you will need to download by clicking on the button and entering your password, the task is completed!
