The proposal of the V.O.D.A project team for NEOM to use a hydropower plant in the ambitious THE LINE project in Saudi Arabia

In 2023, as a result of D. Tiaglin's intellectual activity, a new technical solution for electricity generation related to the field of energy, in particular to hydropower plants, which has an inventive level and can be used in capital construction facilities and individual specialized technical devices as a source of electricity. The technical idea is expressed in the design of a technical device and the technological production process of generating electricity, which is based on the use of the laws of nature: the force of gravity and the buoyant force (the Archimedes force).

In November 2023, the V.O.D.A project was designated for the development and implementation of a technical solution in widely used electrical generating devices, the presentation of which took place on November 15, 2023 at the 25th International WETEX 2023 exhibition in Dubai, UAE. The presentation outlined the start of the project itself, the beginning of its implementation, and the proposal of an investment program for its participants from January 2024.

The implementation of the V.O.D.A project seems capable of creating a basis for the supply of such power generating devices for use in the interests of various electricity consumers with a wide coverage of economic and social sectors, which inevitably should entail the commercialization of the project itself, aimed at creating a new energy structure in cities, settlements, production facilities, to improve the efficiency of infrastructure, environmental safety of the environment human habitation, the attractiveness of the urban environment and economic activity.

Currently, the V.O.D.A project team is developing a new hydropower plant with R&D (research and development), which indicate the prospects and effectiveness of such a technical solution, which determines the feasibility and relevance of its use in the cities of the future. Taking into account the research results, application features and useful properties of the hydropower plant, the V.O.D.A project team has prepared a proposal for its use in the ambitious modern project THE LINE in Saudi Arabia. It was decided to send an offer to one of the leading participants in the ongoing THE LINE project - NEOM Tech & Digital company (Digital City 2nd Floor, Building IN-01, Al Nakheel 12382, Riyadh 11411, Saudi Arabia, website: https://www.neom.com). In addition to the text proposal, a video will be presented with a description of the device and the process of generating electricity by the installation, as well as the placement of such hydroelectric power plants in the structure of the city of THE LINE.

The implementation of THE LINE project, one of the most interesting architectural experiments of our time, began in Saudi Arabia in January 2021. The linear city THE LINE is planned to be built in the Tabuk province of Saudi Arabia. The initiator of this project is the Government of Saudi Arabia. The planned city can be easily called one of the most ambitious architectural projects of our time.

According to the initiators of the project and preliminary design solutions, THE LINE is an alternative to traditional cities with their network of roads diverging from a central point. The new linear city will have one above-ground level and two underground ones. The first one is intended for pedestrians, the entire infrastructure and transport network will be located underground. The urban space is planned in such a way that all necessary services are within walking distance. And the journey from one extreme point of the city to another by high-speed rail will take no more than 20 minutes. Structurally, the linear city THE LINE consists of two mirrored buildings 500 m high and 170 km long. The width of the space between the walls is only 200 m., there are many living plants in it, and the walls are connected by many pedestrian bridges. During operation, the artificial intelligence system will monitor all the processes taking place in the city and analyze how to improve the daily lives of citizens. At the presentation of the project, it was stated that the linear city will be completely powered by renewable energy sources, and its carbon footprint will be zero. It is planned that artificial intelligence (AI) will manage the city, and robots should become service personnel for residents of the new city. About 9 million people will be able to live in the city permanently.

The NEOM initiative stems directly from the Saudi Vision 2030 program, a plan that aims to reduce Saudi Arabia's dependence on oil, diversify its economy and develop public services sectors.
