National patenting phase for the "Wind Power Plant" invention in the Sultanate of Oman
In most countries of the Middle East, an applicant can obtain a patent for an invention on the basis of an international application filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The applicant D.V. Tiaglin transferred the international patenting phase to the national phase of the Sultanate of Oman through patent attorneys, who filed an application for the invention "Wind Power Plant" (WIND POWER INSTALLATION) to the Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman. The application for the invention "Wind Power Plant" (WIND POWER INSTALLATION) No. OM/P/2020/0030 was filed January 26, 2020, at the Oman Patent Office based on PCT international application No. PCT/RU/2018/000686. In October 2022, Oman patent attorney Ahmed Allam IP law Firm & Associates made an annual payment of the state fee to the Patent Office for the maintenance of the national application for the fifth year of priority of this invention, expiring from the filing of the first application in the Russian Federation No. 2017137229 on October 24, 2017. The application has passed the formal examination and its consideration is at the stage of substantive examination, where experts evaluate the patentability of the technical solution. The projected deadline for the decision to grant a patent is the first quarter of 2023.
Recently, Middle Eastern countries have become increasingly attractive for economic activity, as they are rapidly developing and becoming in demand for business development and capitalization of used assets. The Sultanate of Oman is also an attractive country for innovative ideas.
