National patenting phase of the Energy Generator invention in Georgia
Based on the international application PCT/RU2020/050186, registered August 13, 2020 by the International Bureau (IB) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the national phase of the patenting of the Energy Generator in Georgia has started. An invention application was filed with the National Intellectual Property Center - "Sakpatenti" (www.sakpatenti.org.ge) through a patent attorney on February 28, 2022, in accordance with the Patent Act and registered AP 2020 15886. The procedure for patenting an invention in Georgia lasts from 2 to 3 years. The application for an invention in Georgia undergoes an examination, according to the results of which, the office decides whether to grant or refuse to grant a patent. According to the Georgian legislation, the examination consists of a formal examination and a substantive examination.
The Office "Sakpatenti" has conducted a formal examination of D.V. Tiaglin's application, in the course of which the application was checked for compliance with formal requirements. In September 2022 the application was sent from the Patent Office of Georgia to the patent attorney:
- request for reasoned answers to the examination questions;
- decision on the definition of the protected subject matter described in the application;
- result of the patent search;
- decision on the recognition of prior art based on the results of the examination.
In the case of a positive decision of the examination and payment of the fees (for maintenance of the patent, for granting and publication), there will be registration in the State Register, publication in the official gazette and granting of a patent for the invention, which is predicted for the beginning of 2024.
