Security in MyTonWallet
The MyTonWallet app offers users advanced settings in the "Security" section to ensure the safety of funds and convenience of use.
To access the security settings, tap the gear icon in the top right corner of the app’s main screen and then select the "Security" section.
MyTonWallet allows users to choose a preferred authentication method, enable quick app locking, configure auto-lock if the app is inactive for a set period, enable the remember signature feature, and set up automatic logout from all wallets after multiple failed login attempts.
Choosing an Authentication Method
A password is a mandatory security requirement: it is not possible to enable biometric login without it. The password in MyTonWallet consists of four digits. Be sure to memorize your password and, if necessary, write it down on paper. Never store passwords on devices with internet access.
For logging into the app, you can choose the most convenient authentication method: use your custom password or modern biometric authentication methods (fingerprint or facial recognition).
The selected authentication method will apply to all wallets in MyTonWallet.
Quick App Locking
You can enable a quick app lock feature.
Once this option is activated, a quick lock button will appear on the main screen card. Tapping this button will lock the app, making it inaccessible without re-entering the password or using biometric authentication.
Additionally, MyTonWallet users can configure app auto-locking. If the app remains inactive for a specified period, it will automatically lock.
The auto-lock feature becomes available after enabling the lock button.
There are three time options to choose, if you decide to enable auto-lock:
Remember Signature
If you are really active user and frequently send transactions or purchase new NFTs without putting your phone down, MyTonWallet offers a convenient feature - remember signature.
To avoid entering your password every time, use the remember signature feature. This allows you to use the app for 2 minutes without re-entering your password or using biometric data.
MyTonWallet will remember your last authentication and, for convenience, will not prompt you for repeated authentication during operations.
Automatic Logout from Wallets
MyTonWallet provides an additional tool to protect your assets from unauthorized access.
The automatic logout feature will help safeguard your funds if someone attempts to gain access to your app.
When this feature is enabled, MyTonWallet will log out from all your wallets after a selected number of failed login attempts.
Note: once automatic logout is triggered, you will need to log back into your wallet using your seed phrase or a Ledger device.
