Darwinian theory of evolution: doubts and arguments

Darwinian evolution is a brilliant and beautiful scientific theory. It was once a bold assumption.

Today, it defines our basic worldview. Acceptance of the theory as an established truth that is not subject to debate. It's like saying the earth is round, the sky is blue, or gravity accelerates masses. Therefore, you act as an orthodox supporter of scientific views. This, in turn, means that you have taken the first step towards a real intellectual life.

Like many others, I grew up on Darwin's theory and have always believed in its truth. Over the years, I heard doubts from well-informed, sometimes brilliant people, but I was busy tending my own garden; it was easier to let biology take care of itself. But in recent years, books and scientific discussions have closed that path forever.

It is sad. However, religion did not win. This is a defeat for human ingenuity. One less great idea in our world. Another extremely complex and important problem has returned to the list of unsolved problems of humanity.

Each of us must come to terms with the facts and stop trying to make life on Earth easier than it really is.
