Tattoo aftercare

After the session as the matter of course we tell about the healing process and the after-tattoo care procedures.

But for your convenience we have compiled all the information in this article :)

Now, when I have become a lucky owner of a new tattoo, what should I do next?

After the session the artist applies a thin layer of an antiseptic ointment and puts a disposable plastic wrap on it, to prevent an ingress of dirt and infections.

Personal tattoo care during first 3 days

You should buy disposable plastic wraps and special moisturizing creams in advance.
All of that can be bought in our studio.

In the first days it is necessary to change the wraps quite often (2-3 times a day)
How to do that?

– Carefully remove the wrap
– Wash your tattoo with soap and water
– Do not use a washcloath or steam a tattoo!
– Pat your tattoo dry with paper towel and let it dry
– Apply healing ointment and let it dry a bit
– Bandage your tattoo with a new wrap

Personal tattoo care during the next 2 weeks

For the tattoo to heal correctly and without consequnces it is important to follow one simple rule - to wash and moisturize it

Wash your tattoo especially after walk and apply a thin layer of moisturizing cream.

If your tattoo is itchy - it's fine. It's a part of natural healing process. Do not succumb to temptation to scratch or itch it.

What is normal for healing:

- Peeling of the skin
– Fluid release (ichor)
– Slight itching

What shouldn't be done before the healing process is finished:

- Exposing your tattoo to the sun
– Irritate it with the clothes
– Rub with a washcloath
– Steam
– Remove the scab
– Take up physical activities
– Drink alcohol during first 2 days
– Pick or itch your tattoo
– Remove a wrap in the street or anywhere else outside

If:
– It seems to you, that the healing process has gone wrong
– You feel under the weather after the session or next day

We recommend to turn to your artist for and advise or help!
