Shopping in Helsinki

Shopping in Helsinki is fun for people of all ages. With the large number of art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and other retail establishments, you are sure to find many interesting items to see and buy. It is wise to plan ahead when visiting the various sights, shops and other attractions in Helsinki because they all tend to run on empty on weekends. You can make the most out of your shopping experience in the month of August, if you know where and when to look.

Arriving in the capital of Finland, first of all I went to travel to brand stores and iconic markets (the car booked here was very useful).

The best time of the year to go shopping in Helsinki is during the weekdays. The larger tourist areas like Hallebusseratu and central Koutataka are the most crowded. However, at night, you will find it even more crowded as many expats shop for souvenirs, eveningwear and other evening necessities. If you are staying at a hotel near the heart of the city, you will not have to worry about being limited by the crowd. Hotels in Helsinki also offer facilities like saunas, gyms and pool tables, making them an excellent choice for families staying in them. The hotels in Helsinki that are located close to the central pedestrianised area are more expensive than the ones located further away from the tourist areas.

One of the most popular places for expats looking to shop in Finland is the capital of Finland - Helsinki. Located in the south of the country, around the attractive Hinnan plateau, Helsinki offers an ideal setting for shopping expats and tourists. There are several large department stores in the central district and several smaller boutiques and galleries in the downtown area. The large department stores include Aperia, Fortius, Karastan, Korkei, Matsys and Hanwell.

Another good option for shopping expats and tourists is the Central Station. This department store is situated in the middle of the busy shopping streets in the capital. The best thing about this store is that it is located right next to the underground metro train station and the metro is available for transfer between the two locations. The shop offers a wide range of accessories, home decor items, furniture, electronic gadgets, furniture, clothes, shoes, sports memorabilia and many other Finnish souvenirs.

For those who want to shop for something specific, there is no better option than to head to Esplanadi Shopping Centre. It is one of the largest retail outlets in Finland and is situated in the heart of the city. Esplanadi has three huge floor plans, each having their own unique style and offering different types of merchandise. For instance, on the top floor is a hall where customers can watch the world famous Ice Hockey World Cup. The basement of the building also features a huge restaurant with esplanade and international dishes.

Shopping in Helsinki can be best done during the week because the market is open twenty-four hours a day. On Friday and Saturday, the main shopping days in Helsinki, buyers can find a wide range of goods at low prices. This includes electronics, clothing, accessories, sports memorabilia, furniture, sportswear, sports equipment and many more. Shopping in Helsinki offers a great experience to buyers as the prices are very reasonable and many famous brands and manufacturers to produce their products here in this beautiful city. These include Nokia, Ikea, Starbucks, Saatchi, Adidas, Versace, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Lacroix, Cavalli and many others.
