What is the meaning of Trimbakeshwar :

The meaning of Trimbak is “Trinities” trinity represents the Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Mahesh. People believed that “trinities” means Lord Shiva's three eyes and that three eyes indicate the sun, moon, and fire.

The Lingapurana tells us an interesting story about Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. Lingapurana says the sun, the sun, and the three fires, from which the light is now, these three fires are the mother Amba, and the father of these three fires is Ambak

The story behind Jyotirlinga :

There is a big story behind this Jyotirlinga. One day, what happened? There are two elements that control the whole world, 1) Shiva element and 2) Shakti elements we also called it Sky and Earth. One day competition happens between Shiva element and the Shakti element who is more powerful. In between that competition, Shakti element Power started to decrease. That time, Shakti element remembered Lord Vishnu. That time, Lord Vishnu divided the element, Shiva, into 12 parts with his Sudarshan Chakra. Which is called 12 Jyotirlinga. One of which is known as Adya Jyotirlinga
