Tutoring & mentoring

Student tutors have been recommended by the course faculty and have achieved a b or better in the course in which they are tutoring. The tutoring and learning center is open all year, but tutors are staffed only when classes are in session. Tutor availability varies so please check the tutor schedules. Your support provides transformational scholarships, innovative programs and outstanding education to our students. Confirmation emails will be sent for all tutoring requests. Tutoring services are free; however, no-shows for scheduled appointments will be charged $20.

And if you are afraid of bureaucracy and authorities, the tutors can support you and give you advice or even accompany you to the authorities in question. The "Tutoring programme for international students" supplies student tutors in every student house of the studentenwerk who support foreign students. Please note, the student success center will continue to assist students remotely while covid-19 campus restrictions are in place.

Peer tutors are available to help students in most academic courses. Tutors must have successfully completed the tutored course, received faculty approval, and participated in tutor orientation. Tutors are paid, but there is no charge to students for tutoring services. Tutors have control over their schedules, and appointments may be scheduled during the day, tutoring in the evenings and on weekends, and take place in the learning commons. Peer tutoring is available to students in most first and second year courses at the university.

The common goal of all the tutors is to help you become a more confident and independent learner. You can expect to be actively involved in your tutoring sessions. Responses will be in your “tutoring locker” for that subject. Select the subject below you need help with to see tutor schedules. As stated before, epic sessions are not for completing homework, they are for gaining clarity on the work that you have completed. You will receive a confirmation email when the tutor accepts your request, indicating that your session has been scheduled.
