Magnetic paint thickness meter
There are two types of magnetic paint thickness meters, one is called magnetic paint thickness meter and the other is called magnetic induction thickness gauge. Magnetic thickness gauges measure the thickness of the coating by the principle that the magnetic attraction between the head made of magnet and the probe and the magnetically conductive material is proportional to the distance between the two.
The principle of magnetic induction is to use the probe to measure the thickness of the coating on the non-ferromagnetic material covering the base surface by the size of the magnetic flux flowing into the iron substrate. The thicker the coating, the smaller the magnetic flux, and then it can be converted into the coating thickness after processing. Now the thickness of the coating on the surface of the workpiece is basically measured with a magnetic paint thickness meter.
Comparison of single-point thickness measurement and through-thickness measurement:
Single point thickness measurement: The advantages are simple, convenient, economical and easy to extract data. The disadvantage is that the precision is not easy to control and is suitable for offline detection.
Thickness measurement through beam: the advantage is to be able to control the jitter error brought by online monitoring, and to better measure the product. The disadvantage is that the price is relatively expensive, suitable for online testing.
Paint thickness meter is an instrument used to measure the thickness of materials and objects. In industrial production, it is commonly used to measure whether the thickness of the surface layer of the object meets the standard. Among these instruments are radioactive thickness gauges that use the penetration characteristics of α-rays, β-rays, and γ-rays; ultrasonic thickness gauges that use the change of ultrasonic frequency; and the principle of using eddy currents Eddy current thickness gauge; thickness gauge using mechanical contact measurement principle, etc. The main methods of coating thickness measurement are: magnetic thickness measurement method, radiation thickness measurement method, electrolytic thickness measurement method, eddy current thickness measurement method, and ultrasonic thickness measurement method.
Matters needing attention in coating measurement:
1. During the test, it should be noted that the metal magnetism and surface roughness of the standard sheet should be similar to the test piece.
2. During the measurement, the probe is kept perpendicular to the surface of the measured object.
3. Pay attention to the critical value of the metal on the surface of the measured object when measuring.
4. Pay attention to the curvature of the base when measuring.
5. Before measuring, remove all surrounding magnetic objects. If there are objects around, a magnetic plant can be generated. If it will interfere with the magnetic thickness measurement method.
6. Be careful not to measure corners during measurement.
7. And the pressure must be kept constant during measurement, otherwise it will affect the measured reading.
8. Keep the probe in direct contact with the measured object when performing the test.
