Welcome Tanya Davydova!

October 16, 2024

How did you first hear about S95?

I learnt about S95 from Belgrade Wine Run chat.

Finishing a race always brings a set of bright emotions!

What motivated you to start participating in S95 events?

I used to participate in Parkrun Moscow and really loved it. So when I saw there was a similar event in Belgrade I was really happy to join.

How long have you been running or jogging?

I've been running since 2015, so it's 9 years!

Somewhere, somewhen...

Do you have any specific goals for your running, such as improving your time or distance?

Right now I am getting back into my running form, so I am trying not to obsess about stats. I am planning to run a half marathon this September - the last one for me was before pandemic, so I am really excited about it.

What do you enjoy most about participating in S95?

I think the best thing about S95 is the community. Having like-minded people around you really helps with motivation and boosts you confidence. I always liked running alone, but now I quite enjoy having running buddies =)

"Running" alone...

Have you participated in any other running events or races?

Yes! Before pandemic I've completed 4 marathons, around 20 half marathons and God knows how many 10ks and 5ks =)

Tanya can boast a wide geography of her starts!

How often do you train or exercise outside of S95 events?

At the moment I usually run 3 times a week.

What is your favourite part of the S95 course here?

The finish line! Who doesn't like to be cheered on =)

What is your favourite volunteering position?

I actually enjoy being the director. It takes me a little bit out of my comfort zone, but I like the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment after the event.

Wihout a doubt, Tanya is one of the most remarkable persons in S95 community in Belgrade

Do you have any running tips or advice for beginners?

Start slow and focus on your how your body feels. I think it is very important to focus on your self and not to compare your progress to others. Everybody has their own path. And you should only compete with your self.

Do you have any memorable experiences or stories from previous S95 events?

The first time I was volunteering as a director we had twice as much runners as usual. And a lot of them were running with us for the first time. It was a bit stressful for me, but the weather and the atmosphere were amazing and everyone was so happy =)

Are you involved in any other community or fitness activities?

I love going for a swim in an open pool after a hot day. I do a bit of yoga and strength training to support my running, but I hate it, so I just do it at home =)
