We are looking for a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer to scale and build our payment infrastructure.
Our current stack is Elixir, we believe great engineers can learn new tools fast. We care far more about engineering judgments and craft than any specific programming language.
- To contribute to the end-to-end software lifecycle, including CI/CD, monitoring, alerts, and production support;
- To develop payment functionality and high-throughput transaction processing systems;
- To design and develop high-performance APIs for efficient request and data handling;
- To build a data pipeline that transforms financial data into real-time compliance checks;
- To collaborate closely with frontend teams, Product, UX, and backend peers.

- Higher technical education in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science;
- 4+ years of experience building fintech, lending, or banking backends (more experience is a plus);
- Experience with Elixir in production is a plus, but we welcome strong engineers with large-scale systems experience in Elixir, Erlang, Ruby, Java, Python, Go, or similar - we’ll help you get up to speed with Elixir;
- Proven hands-on experience in fintech startups and successful fintech product launches (not crypto, not blockchain);
- Understanding of financial systems and risk decision-making;
- Results-driven mindset, excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills;
- Ability to thrive under pressure, adapt quickly, and take ownership of outcomes;
- Personal qualities: Integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility;
- Fluent in both Russian and English.
- A track record of building consumer products that scaled to 100k+ users;
- Hands-on experience with UK&EU payment systems.
