Digital Marketing: Consumer is the King

To start off with this topic, I’d like to simply break down the words for you, “digital” and “marketing”. People in the business world are very familiar with the term marketing as it is the heart and soul to selling any goods or services. Marketing is basically promoting what we have to offer to the consumer to the intended audience. Marketing is making our strategy reach the people who we want to use our products. On the other hand, digital is something we nearly use every day.

The term digital is something that happens virtually; simply put, digital is a process of going on devices or platforms virtually.To sum it up, digital marketing is the process of marketing, promoting or advertising our products through the help of digital devices and the internet. With the whole world getting digitalized, it has become a necessary evil for manufacturers or business firm owners to also think about an additional marketing technique which is now covering a large number of market shares. The generation now is hardly interested in newspapers or even television commercials let alone the radio advertisements.

This generation is too busy in their life working, studying or indulging themselves in their small social virtual world. So, what’s the harm in getting inside their social world for marketing our products? After all, consumers are the kings and they decide what they like and what they don’t. There may again be a time when they shift to the newspaper and magazine (which is not going to happen) but it is what it is.

Manufacturers make what customers want and where they want it. Digital marketing needs no introduction; our mail inboxes, our social feeds and stories and even the beginning of a really interesting video is bugged by an advertisement which we have to watch and believe me, it seems longer than the actual video!But all in all, digital marketing has emerged as an incredible opportunity for the sellers because they finally get a platform where they can showcase their unique products and increase their sales.

They can never just hold on to one medium of marketing like print or broadcast media, it is now time to land into digital marketing and many have already done that. And if we analyze, we are starting to like them too; they are interesting sometimes or even they emotionally connect with us or relatively share what our real-life needs are and ultimately motivates us to buy products from that company or firm. We cannot deny that we haven’t liked the product’s picture or style or their way of advertising and not shared with friends and not even wanted to buy it or check out more about the product or even order it online! We have done at least one of the above and why wouldn’t we?
