The deal was closed on September 25, 2014. The company Take-Two Interactive, which owned a 2% stake at that time, was paid $22 Million by Amazon.

In 2015 Twitch announced that they have more than 100 million visitors per month and 1.7 million people, who are streaming live on one of the several channels.

Twitch Poker opened up the new possibility of watching interactive poker live streams with hole cards from home while being able to communicate with the streamer and ask him questions.

Nowadays all of the biggest poker tournaments in the world such as the World Series of Poker, Triton Million, EPT or Aussie Millions are streamed live with hole cards on Twitch.tv.
