What is IKEA missing?

Russian text: https://t.me/semworkchannel/42

The business of this furniture giant is genius and will grow up for a very long time until a stronger competitor comes to the market with giant investments and a breakthrough marketing concept.

But what can IKEA do for its development right now? How can it break away from competitors even more?

1. Supporting art: organize a competition and then an exhibition of creative art objects based on the most popular IKEA products. The products of the winners can be sold, revenue can be shared with the creators. Outcomes:

- plus for loyalty and additional brand mentions;

- additional generation of design ideas;

- the best participants can be hired.

2. Opening mini-shops within cities. Yes, so far only design studios are open, but it would be appropriate to open stores with popular goods of constant demand + organize points of delivery of goods on demand.

It requires investments, but it will save customers time instead of spending hours driving outside the city to buy a single dresser for the bedroom.

3. Has the customer bought all the products exactly from the IKEA selection? IKEA can give him a discount or a gift for purchase. It will help to draw attention to standardized interior solutions and it will be easier to predict logistics by “merging” unpopular goods.

4. Do you know the situation when IKEA is awfully crowded on weekends? Everybody with their carts, long queues at the checkout – all this brings discomfort to customers.

Perhaps a discount or free delivery of goods for online orders on busy days of IKEA could help solve this problem.

5. The system sees that the same lamp is laying in the basket of several people, the lamp quantity is very low and the next delivery to the shop won't be soon. This certainly happens in any store.

For such situations it is possible to implement an auction trading system for low stocks of high-demand goods: in this way, this demand can be balanced and IKEA can earn extra money.

There will also be an additional news point :)

6. What is most often left over after goods from IKEA? Paper boxes and plastic bags. They are accumulating in large numbers in the house and taking up a lot of space at the waste point.

It's a good chance to support the environmental initiative by offering to buyers handle boxes and packages carefully, and after repairs bring them back to IKEA. Instead, IKEA can offer mini-discounts. Pfandsystem is doing great in Europe, so there will definitely be demand for this initiative.

Any other suggestions?
