Windows – Shadowsocks Setup via Browser Extension
This guide explains how to use Shadowsocks for Windows together with the Proxy SwitchyOmega extension in your browser.
🔹 Step 1: Download & Install Shadowsocks
- Download the app:
👉 Shadowsocks for Windows (ZIP) - Create a new folder called
Shadowsocks-4.4.1.0
- Extract all the files from the ZIP archive into this folder
- Run the file named
Shadowsocks
🔹 Step 2: Get your connection key
- Open our Telegram bot
- Go to Menu → Subscription → Regular key
- The bot will send you a key that starts with
ss://
🔹 Step 3: Import your server
- In the bottom-right system tray, right-click the Shadowsocks icon
- Hover over “Servers”, then click “Import URL from Clipboard”
- You’ll see two confirmation windows — just click OK / Yes
- In the settings window that pops up, click “Apply”
🔹 Step 4: Install SwitchyOmega extension
- Go to the Chrome Web Store and install Proxy SwitchyOmega
(Works with Chrome, Brave, Edge, etc.) - Open its settings and create a new profile (or edit the default one)
🔹 Step 5: Configure proxy settings
- Choose SOCKS5 protocol
- In the Server field, type:
127.0.0.1
- For the Port, go back to the Shadowsocks app and find the value under “Local Proxy Port”
- Enter the same port in SwitchyOmega
- Click “Apply changes” on the left
🔹 Step 6: Start the connection
✅ Done! Your browser is now using encrypted Shadowsocks proxy.
