Honda Civic and Honda CR-V no longer be listed in India

The cars are still listed on the company's official website. However, this may change once stocks run out.

Honda India announced that it would stop production at one of its two factories in India. The grand Noida plant focuses on the production of large Honda cars, while the second tapkala plant in Rajasthan focuses on the high-speed production of small cars.

Honda Civic and CR-V are the company's largest products. Onoda factory focuses on the production of these two cars and Honda City. While production from the popular Honda City will move to tapcara's plant, the larger Honda Civic and Honda CR-V will no longer be produced in India.

As the tapukara plant in Rajasthan is built for small cars, the company will have to stop producing these two models, while the introduction of urban and CR-V vehicles will require a lot of investment in the plant. Instead, the company has decided to stop production of both cars. The cars are still listed on the company's official website. However, this may change once stocks run out.

Announcing the end of production of Honda Civic and Honda CR-V models, Rajesh Gore, senior vice president and head (sales and marketing) of hcil, said that it was a difficult decision for them to stop producing Honda CR-V and Civic because both models are globally popular. This is because the tapukara plant is considered an efficient facility for small and medium-sized vehicles. Unless you make a certain investment there, cars of a certain size and above cannot be produced there.

The executive claims that these investments will eventually lead to a rise in the prices of the two cars, which in turn will make them more unattainable to potential buyers. However, in the next 15 years, the company will continue to provide support to the existing owners of these two cars.

With the two cars out of Honda's portfolio, the company will have only compact cars Amazon, medium-sized cars Honda City, less than 4 meters off-road car WR-V and high-end hatchback Jazz.
