2022 Mercedes EQA brings a clean look to the electric GLA class

Mercedes Benz introduces eqa250 as the stabilizer of its entry-level SUV GLA class electric vehicle.

2022 Mercedes Benz EQA is an electric derivative of the GLA released by Daimler today.

In Europe, EQA will offer 187 horsepower and 277 LB ft of torque for the equivalent of $57750.

EQA may or may not come to the United States, depending on how Mercedes's electric car program stands out. If it does, it is expected to bring a more powerful engine with power up to 280 horsepower.

Mercedes Benz has just released EQA, a member of a diversified family of Mercedes EQ electric vehicles. It's just a full lineup that will be launched this year and next year. From A-class to G-Wagen, each one is based on the traditional internal combustion engine Benz, which was first launched by GLC derivative EQC. The EQ family will grow with more models, such as GLB based EQB, followed by future independent models, including EQE and Eqs.

As a compact crossover electric vehicle, EQA may herald the electric future of Mercedes, but in fact, it looks quite clean and traditional. Stylistically, it's a GLA, but without any pseudo movement, disorganized, with sweeping the front and horizontal light bars reflected in its tail. Why isn't every GLA like EQA?

In Europe, EQA 250 will introduce a front-end asynchronous motor, which can provide 187 horsepower and, more importantly, 277 LBF ft of torque. That's a bit higher than the gla250, which is rated at 258 lb. ft, but has 221 horsepower.

Unfortunately, eqa250 is not comparable to GLA 250 in terms of acceleration. According to Mercedes, it takes about two seconds to reach a speed of 60 mph, and in terms of mileage, it is controlled at 100 mph, while the European market's GLA 250 will remain at 149 mph.

When asked about plans to bring EQA to the United States, a Mercedes Benz spokesman told car and driver, "at present, EQA is still considering the U.S. market." If EQA does come, it may be equipped with a more powerful power system. Mercedes suggests there will be an all-wheel drive and around 280 HP EQA. That sounds interesting to us; we really appreciate the instant torque of electric cars, and the dual motor EQA could be a serious performer.

The 66.5 kwh battery provides a significant range of over 300 miles in the European cycle, which undeniably favors electricity. We think the 200-to-250-mile range is realistic. Unfortunately, the cost of this series: the compact eqa250 weighs more than a six-cylinder, mild hybrid S-class, by the way, with all-wheel drive and better traction.

Internally, EQA remains a close brother to GLA, which is a good thing because it is equipped with one of the most advanced user interfaces on the market. Although we mourn the loss of Mercedes twist and the old button input system, there are many other ways to enter the required commands, including the constantly improved voice control system.

For EQA, Mercedes Benz has adjusted its color and material selection to include rose gold application and blue fabric. Elegant and futuristic, the new look is sure to win some customers the choice is in choosing an electric fence.

EQA will be built in Germany and China. In Europe, the price of EQA250 is only slightly higher than that of GLA250, which is offset by government subsidies and incentives. If electric vehicles are to make any progress in the U.S. market, similar measures will be the most popular.
