The next generation of Honda City gets a 1.5-liter engine
Honda cars Philippines has finally confirmed that it will launch a new City next week. HCPI has already shared some details before the launch, which was officially launched on October 22, 2020.
First, it looks like the brand-new Honda City will be equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. HCPI has not yet officially released any engine specifications, but it provides a complete list of color choices and looks at variants of the car.
All models shared by the company do not include any models other than "1.5". Therefore, we are likely to get a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine recently launched in Malaysia, which can reach 119hp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm torque at 4,300rpm. The local market will also choose between automatic transmission and manual transmission.
Next, let's talk about color. The new Honda City 2020 will be available in six different colors: Spark red metallic, modern steel metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, moon silver metallic and taffeta white. Red metal and white pearl are new additions to the lineup.
Finally, customers who are interested in the car can now book a new City from any authorized Honda dealer in China. HCPI will also present 5,000-yuan worth of electronic gift certificates to current Honda owners, who can recommend the brand-new Honda City to them. The offer will run from now until December 31, 2020.
So we won't have a turbocharged or hybrid Honda City? We will wait for HCPI to fully disclose the car before reaching any conclusions. However, we no longer hold our breath at this point.
Then, are you looking forward to the arrival of the next generation of Honda? If you want to see it after it enters the showroom, please let us know in the comments.
