Adam Opel - German industrialist, founder of the Opel automobile company
🌾He was born in a farmer's family.
⚙️From early childhood, Adam had a craving for mechanics.
His father decided to send him to study as a blacksmith.
🧷In 1863, Adam Opel opened a sewing machine factory in Ruesselsheim.
🚲In France, Adam saw a bicycle and decided to organize their production. In their design, he applied an innovation for that time — wheels with tires filled with air.
Adam Opel had five sons and all five worked in the family business.
🚗3 years after the death of Adam Opel (1895), the sons engaged in the production of cars.
The Opel brothers produced their first cars in 1899, having spent 37 years developing and gaining production experience.
🏭Now Opel has four factories in Germany, as well as production in the UK, Belgium and France.
