The International Earth Day is celebrated on April 22

Earth Day is the day of our common cozy home. Quite an interesting ecological holiday created in order to draw people's attention to the fact that the ecosystem of our planet is very fragile and convince them to treat it as carefully as possible.
Let's get to know our planet better.

🌎Scientific data indicate that the Earth was formed from the solar nebula
about 4.54 billion years ago, after finding the only natural satellite — the moon. Approximately 70.8% of the planet's surface is occupied by the World Ocean, the rest of the surface is occupied by continents and islands.

🌍About 100 tons of interplanetary material (mainly in the form of dust) falls to Earth from space every day. Comets are to blame for everything, the ice from which evaporates when approaching the Sun.

🌏The "waist" of the Earth (near the equator) is 40,075 kilometers. Bonus fact — at the equator you will weigh less than at the North or South Pole. 0.5% less

🥵The hottest place on Earth is in the city of El-Azilia (Libya). On September 13, 1922, a temperature of 57.8 degrees Celsius was recorded there!

🥶The lowest temperature ever recorded on Earth is minus 89.2 degrees Celsius. On July 21, 1983, it was recorded by Soviet scientists from the Vostok scientific station in Antarctica.

🌊The deepest point in the ocean is in the Mariana Trench — 10,916 m.
And what interesting places do you know on our planet?
