August 4 - Speleologist's Day

Every year on August 4, representatives of a rather rare profession celebrate their professional holiday.

A speleologist is a well–trained specialist whose task is to explore caves, evaluate them from the point of view of possible laying of communications, search for minerals, etc.

Amateur speleologists are engaged in speleotourism — this is one of the most common directions.

There are also speleodivers who dive into underwater caves.
