August 5 - International Traffic Light Day🚦

🔋The first electric traffic light was invented by Lester Wire from the USA in 1912. It was a device with two signals, red and green, but its invention was never patented.

🚦The first tricolor traffic lights were installed in the USA in 1920, in Detroit and New York.

👁Red on top, yellow in the middle, green at the bottom – the world standard. They adopted it so that people with visual impairment could safely cross the road.

🌳In London, you can see a unique monument to the traffic light, which looks like a whole traffic light tree. By the way, there are also such trees in Belarus, located in Gomel and Minsk)

In Rio de Janeiro, drivers can run a red light from 10 pm to 5 am without stopping. This is due to the risk of robbery at deserted intersections, in order to avoid this, the authorities allowed drivers to violate traffic rules at night.

Berlin has a unique traffic light of 13 sections, which shows 13 different signs. This is a local landmark, but at the same time the device is fully functional.

On this holiday we remind you to be careful and attentive on the road❤️
