World Walnut Day is celebrated on May 17

This is an occasion to taste delicious dishes with this nut and a great opportunity to learn more about its nutritional properties and use in cooking.

🚢The most popular walnuts are called so not because their homeland is Greece. In fact, walnuts originated from Asia, but Greek traders began to import them into Russia. From there came the name "walnut", which spread to many countries of the former Soviet Union.

🧠In ancient Babylon, the priests noticed that walnuts outwardly resemble a human brain. Therefore, commoners were forbidden to eat them, since it was believed that they could make them smarter, and this was undesirable.

💆🏻‍♀️By eating a few walnuts with honey, you can overcome a headache, if it is not too strong.

🥔The nutritional value of walnuts is about 7 times higher than potatoes.
