April Fools Day

For many, it is a well-known fact that Joke Day or Fool’s Day is celebrated worldwide on 1 April. On this day we have all joked about our friends/colleagues or been the subject of jokes. We have prepared for you some interesting pranks throughout history.

There is speculation that Fool’s Day was tied to the spring equinox or the first day of spring. In spring, nature seems to deceive people with volatile and unpredictable weather.

Interesting pranks in history

How would you react to this news?

⏰On April 1 1980 BBC announced that the Big Ben clock would be converted from mechanical to electronic to keep pace with progress.

🪐In 1976 British astronomer Patrick Moore, speaking on BBC 2 in the morning, told the unknowledgeable listeners that at 9/47 there would be a unique astronomical event and anyone could experience it. The planet Pluto has to go beyond Jupiter, which will cause a gravitational anomaly. And if you jump up at 9/47, you’ll feel a light flight.
As early as 9/48 BBC 2 began receiving hundreds of calls from listeners claiming that they had experienced the promised sense of flight. And one listener said that she and eleven of her friends took off from the chairs and flew around the room a little.

And how do you spend this day? Were you a participant of interesting pranks?
