SILENT MASTER WRITER BY TEMANI NKALOLANG

Silent Master Children's Literature Review.

GENRE: CHILDREN'S LITERATURE
TITLE: SILENT MASTER
WRITER: TEMANI NKALOLANG, BOTSWANA
REVIEWER: ANTHONY NWAGBAOSO ONYEADOR, NIGERIA

This story brings to mind the nature of wind, drought and soil as it affects humanity. It is so well put that the humanistic behaviour is animated. The writer captures the workings of these natural causes to carve out lessons and easy brainstorming for children.

The story kicks off with the peaceful existence of Soil and mankind until the arrival of drought. Suddenly, Drought slowly dispossesses Soil and becomes the new centre of attraction. Mankind now sees the threat of Drought and calculating with their former ally, Soil evicts Drought thereby reinstalling Soil with a new agreement.

The writer uses great literary themes of plot, irony, pun among others to expose the disastrous effects of drought as to the unifying effect of soil as an element of choice to man.
