Music Show Criteria: SNS

SNS stands for social network services. Every music show has SNS as part of their winning criteria. It has an average weighting of 11.72%.

There are 2 social media platforms that music shows use to determine SNS scores: YouTube and TikTok.

YouTube

Used by: Show Champion, M Countdown, Music Bank, Music Core, Inkigayo

For Show Champion, M Countdown, Music Core and Inkigayo, the data taken from YouTube is simply the number of views gained on the official music video.

Music Bank takes its YouTube data from the Circle Social Chart.

The Circle Social Chart measures artist popularity across different platforms (only YouTube is considered for Music Bank).

We don't know exactly what kind of YouTube data is tracked by the Circle Social Chart, but anything that can be used as a measure of XLOV's popularity and virality could be taken into account (views, likes, comments, shares etc).

The Circle Social Chart tracks videos that contain released music.

This means that it's important to engage with not only the music video, but also official audio releases, Shorts using official audio as the sound, and other videos that contain released music.

The tracking week for the weekly Circle Social Chart is from Sunday 12pm - the following Sunday 11:59am KST, but Music Bank track from Monday 12am - Sunday 11:59pm KST and they only take the YouTube data from this chart.

TikTok

Used by: M Countdown

We don't know exactly how M Countdown uses TikTok in their scoring.

It almost certainly uses the number of videos that use the official song audio as the sound, but it may take into account other factors such as:

  • Views, likes, comments and shares on videos that have the official song audio as the sound
  • Views, likes, comments and shares on videos on XLOV's official TikTok account
  • Use of artist and song hashtags in videos
  • It's also possible that M Countdown uses YouTube Shorts as well.

Summary: How to help improve XLOV's SNS score

The most important and most effective way to improve XLOV's SNS score on music shows is to stream the official music video on YouTube.

However, it is also important to

  • engage with XLOV's official YouTube channel and its content (like, comment, share, etc)
  • make and engage with videos on TikTok and YouTube shorts using the song's official audio as the sound and using official artist and comeback hashtags
  • engage with XLOV's official TikTok content
