If you follow only crypto, then perhaps you’ve never heard of Revolut. And yet, it’s the most popular neobanking (or digital banking) app in the world. XLM becomes the 6th crypto coin offered in the app. Here’s what you need to know about Revolut — and our take on if you should use it.

Your bank might already offer an online banking app, so you probably know how they work. You can transfer money, pay your bills and mortgage, and so on. But for many other things, you’ll still need to go to your local bank branch office.

Neobanks offer most of the services that you get in a regular bank, but they don’t have any physical offices. Opening accounts, deposits, transfers — everything is done in the app. Plus, they have features that you can’t get in a standard online banking app, such as currency conversion, investment in stocks, and cryptocurrency purchases.

The largest and best-known neobank is Revolut: a UK company whose app works all around Europe. It currently has over 4.5 million customers. The service includes a prepaid card and supports 29 currencies, and you can exchange from one to another without fees at interbank rates. It’s very convenient if you travel across Europe.

Plus — and this is the part that interests us — Revolut offers cryptocurrency exposure. You can buy, convert, and sell crypto within the app — but you can’t transfer it to an external wallet. However, it’s possible to send your crypto to another Revolut user. The limitations are mostly for compliance reasons. By the way, Revolut also works in the US.

Revolut already supports BTC, BCH, ETH, and XRP — and now it has also added XLM. According to the company, it received a flood of requests from users who were asking to enable Stellar support. Revolut’s representatives also hinted that it’s just the first step on the way to overhauling the firm’s crypto products, so who knows? Maybe it will become possible to send crypto in and out of the app in the future.

For Stellar, this is a huge step forward in terms of publicity: now it’s associated with the most famous fintech app in Europe. It comes as a new step in a series of new partnerships that we’ve covered before. Stellar will get additional coverage in the media, its reputation will increase, and this can lead to an increase in price.

But what does this news mean for you as a user of XLMwallet? On the one hand, if you live in Europe, you should really consider getting a Revolut wallet. It’s very well done and if you travel a lot and pay in foreign currencies, you can save quite a lot of money.

On the other hand, you can’t send your XLM to a Revolut wallet or withdraw it from there. The Revolut solution is aimed at beginners who have never used crypto before — a sort of a cautious first-time exposure. But if you already have a crypto wallet, you won’t gain much from the crypto features in Revolut.

So, there is no choice between the XLMwallet and the Revolut wallet. They are not mutually replaceable. XLMwallet gives you full control over your crypto, while with Revolut you can control your fiat. Both are very valuable.

How do you think the price of Stellar will react to this news? Do you expect more growth? Share in the comments!

Is it a good idea to store your wallet key on the phone?

The biggest Stellar-related news of the week is that Samsung Blockchain Keystore now supports Stellar. Is it a good idea to store your wallet key on the phone?

You’re probably familiar with password managers like Apple Keychain, Windows Credential Manager or Google Password Manager. They are good enough for things like email and your Facebook account, but they are obviously not secure enough for crypto wallet keys.

New iPhones also have a chip called Secret Enclave, and that would be fine for wallet keys, but you can’t import a mnemonic phrase into it, at least now yet. There’s also a framework known as Apple CryptoKit, but it’s aimed at developers. Finally, Samsung created Blockchain Keystore — a way to store private keys in a safe area on the phone that is not connected to the internet, like a hardwallet. The Keystore can also sign transactions safely. At first, it supported only ETH and BTC, but later 30+ more coins were added.

Now Samsung Blockchain Keystore has finally integrated Stellar. Thus, XLM users finally have a way to save their private key on the phone. For now, the Keystore is available only on the more expensive Galaxy models: S20, Note 10, Fold, Z Flip, and S 10.

If you have one of these Samsung phones, you can store your XLMwallet key in the Keystore. The system is indeed quite safe — and definitely much safer than keeping it somewhere on your laptop or, even worse, in your email.

However, if you don’t have one of the latest Galaxy phones, we don’t think it’s worth buying one just in order to have this feature. You can still lose the phone, after all. If the Keystore is the only place where you’ve saved the key/seed phrase, it will be gone forever with the phone. So, you’ll need backup copies anyway.

In our experience, the best way to store a wallet key or seed safely is to print it out in several copies on a sheet of paper and hide those pieces of paper in places where you’ll be able to find them. For example, in a book that holds special meaning to you, or in an album of your childhood photos. You might even make a note on your computer with hints to the locations — say, if you write ‘Winnie the Pooh’, it will help you remember to look in the book about Winnie the Pooh. The important thing is that you don’t save the actual key or seed phrase in a location that can be accessed through the internet.

As for the price of XLM, it has reacted positively to the news of the partnership with Samsung, growing from $0.0942 to $0.1055, or by 12% in just one day. Overall, Stellar’s performance in July has been, well, stellar: our favorite coin added 57%! Do you remember how we kept telling you to HODL? You can see now that we’ve been right, and we remain bullish on XLM. We are convinced that lumens can go beyond $0.15 in the next 3 months.

Crypto staking is very popular, and some think that it’s a much better alternative to IEO, cloud mining and other investments. Platforms offer up to 20% per year for staking. Is this safe? Should you buy staking coins — or continue holding XLM in your wallet? Read our analysis!

Crypto lending is now just as popular as IEOs were last years. It’s supposedly safer, too. Here’s how it works: a user needs some crypto, usually for margin trading. They have some other crypto assets that they don’t want at that moment. The user deposits what he has on a crypto lending platform as collateral and gets a loan in a different crypto. You as the lender get regular interest, and the platform acts as an intermediary between you and the borrower.

There are dozens of crypto lending platforms, some centralized, other decentralized. Some of them also offer you to lend XLM, though most offers are for USDC, USDT and BTC. Out of the major platforms, you can find Stellar interest accounts on Celsius Network (3% a year) and Nexo (5%).

So, should you send the lumens from your XLMwallet to those platforms or no? Let’s dig deeper.

Crypto lending comes in two shapes: centralized and decentralized. The decentralized options are completely run on a smart contract: there is no administration that decides who gets a loan and at what terms.

Decentralized lending is quite safe, because the borrower deposits a huge collateral on the smart contract, and that collateral can always be sold to repay you. Apps like dYdX and Compound work that way. However, they don’t support Stellar, only coins like DAI and BAT.

And then there’s centralized lending. The platforms collects the money that users lend and creates loan offers. It’s like a P2P lending marketplace, but P2P doesn’t mean decentralized. The management still makes all the decisions and you can’t monitor the state of your loan. The platform will ensure you that it got a big collateral and that your crypto is safe — but there’s no way for you to check. If the authorities accuse the platform of some wrongdoing, it can get closed and you won’t have any way to recover your lumens.

From the point of view of risk, there’s no difference between lending XLM on a centralized platform or depositing your cash money in a bank. In both cases there’’s a black-box structure between you and the borrower.

So far there haven’t been serious incidents with lending platforms from the top 10, but it’s just like with centralized crypto exchanges — there’s always the first time.

Because of these centralization risks, we don’t advise that you send your XLM to these platforms. Besides, the lending rates aren’t that great. If you want to make an additional investment, you can get some DAI or SNX and lend them on platforms like Nuo or dYdX for the same or better interest rates. We have nothing against crypto lending in itself — when it’s decentralized, it’s a good investment instrument.

As for your XLM, we advise that you keep holding them in your wallet. The corona crash is over, so the price will almost surely keep rising. If you wait 3–4 months, you can earn 20% or more on your lumens — better than any crypto lending deal!

If we were to choose between storing lumens in the XLMwallet or exchanging them for some lending or staking coin, we’d definitely keep the lumens. We are 99% sure that the gains will be greater.

We always bring you the latest news about Stellar partnerships, and today’s story is perhaps the most exciting in the past months. Stellar has partnered up with Elliptic — one of the world’s leading crypto security providers. Read on for details!

We all want mass crypto adoption to come sooner, but there’s an obstacle: the vast majority of businesses in the world still don’t accept crypto. Mass adoption won’t come thanks to DeFi, blockchain games and other dApps along — it needs a willingness on behalf of traditional companies.

One of the things that these non-crypto businesses worry about is the risks and legality of crypto payments. Everyone has heard that Bitcoin and other coins are often used to finance terrorists, launder money, conduct fraud etc. The phrase ‘dirty Bitcoins’ is also popular. Naturally, entrepreneurs worry: will there be consequences if they accidentally accept such a dirty coin? Can it land you in prison as aiding and abetting crime?

The solution is to use a service that monitors crypto transactions and flags those that seem suspicious. It’s true that crypto is mostly anonymous, but you can track the same coin across different transactions and see if it participated in anything fraudulent. This requires a powerful AI, or a neural network.

So, Elliptic is just such a transaction monitoring service. It has an advanced risk scoring system and can easily detect suspicious signs of a fraud. It’s been offered to Bitcoin-based businesses for quite a while — for example, leading crypto payment providers use it. But now it’s finally become available for Stellar.

In their press release, Stellar and Elliptic say that the partnership will allow to detect money laundering partners, collect data to link XLM payments to known fraudulent entities and even learn more about the dark web. The ultimate goal is to boost compliance and Stellar’s standing in the eyes of regulators.

Does this endanger your privacy as a user of the XLMwallet? No, not at all. Compliance and privacy are fully compatible. Nobody is going to put you under surveillance. The partnership refers more to Stellar-based businesses, not to wallets.

Apparently it will be up to each business to decide if it wants the transactions of its users to be tracked and analyzed. So far it’s just for XLM transactions, by the way, and not for other assets issued on the Stellar blockchain. We as the administration of XLMwallet aren’t planning to introduce such monitoring.

However, if you pay with XLM in e-commerce stores or in dApps, you should keep in mind that your payment might be scored for risk by Elliptic. But if you are not involved in any shady activities, there’s really nothing to worry about.

What do you think about Elliptic and its risk monitoring system? Do you find it controversial? Share in the comments!

Stellar and Ripple: two cryptocurrencies that can seem very similar. Ripple has a larger market cap, but Stellar has a lot of advantages of its own. Why should you choose XLM over XRP? Here are a few reasons!

Even though Ripple is no.4 on the CoinMarketCap list of the largest crypto coins (with $1.3 billion) and Stellar is only no. 14 with $500 million, we still believe that XLM will win out in the end. That’s also why we created a wallet for lumens, not for Ripple. And if you were to ask us which crypto to buy right now, we’d suggest Stellar.

There are many reasons why we believe that Stellar is a superior project and a better investment. But before we get to them, let’s remember one thing: they were both created — rather, co-created — by the same person, Jed McCaleb. Ripple was launched in 2012, but a few years later McCaleb began to get disappointed with where the project was going, so he went his separate way to create Stellar.

Now we’ve got history out of the way, let’s talk about the differences.

Who is it for? In a few words: XRP is for banks, XLM is for people. Actually, Ripple is a protocol that’s completely separate from the coin XRP. Those 100+ financial institutions that the company works with don’t even use XRP, but just the protocol, in order to facilitate cross-border transfers between different banks.

Lumens was designed as digital money for the unbanked — for those 1.5 billion people who don’t have bank accounts. It’s easy to create tokenized versions of fiat currencies on the Stellar blockchain, too. In the future, people in Africa, Asia, the Americas, etc. will be able to send money almost instantly, almost for free using Stellar. We feel it’s a stronger use case that corresponds better to the purpose of cryptocurrency than what Ripple does.

Can you launch dApps with it? Stellar supports smart contracts, so you can create any sort of decentralized application with this blockchain, just like on Ethereum. But Ripple doesn’t have a smart contract functionality, it’s just a protocol for sending money. So Ripple will never become a massive decentralized ecosystem — but Stellar can.

What’s the consensus model? Both XRP and XML use unique consensus protocols that are very different from Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake. However, since Stellar’s protocol came later, it built on the one used by Ripple and improved it. It was actually designed by a famous MIT professor. It’s sort of a next-generation consensus model compared to XRP.

How decentralized is it? It’s a well-known fact that Ripple is highly centralized. The company decides which financial institutions in its network can participate in the consensus. Simple users like you and us would never be able to play a role. By contrast, anyone can take part in the consensus on the Stellar blockchain.

Yet another aspect of this issue is the control over coins. Ripple as a company controls over 60% of all XRP, and it can sell them as it finds fit. When Jed McCaleb left the company, his holdings were actually frozen, and this caused an uproar in the crypto community. The Stellar Foundation used to control more than 80% of all coins, but then they burned a huge part of their reserves several months ago, so that now the company controls only about 30%.

This last point about centralization is the fundamental reason why many analysts worry about XRP’s long-term prospects. It’s been growing due to a boost from Bitcoin, but it doesn’t have many internal growth drivers. If there’s a new downturn in the crypto market, or if the Ripple management conducts yet another sell-off, the price can fall sharply.

On the other hand, Stellar has lots of reasons to grow, such as new partnerships and the sheer fact that it’s so undervalued. In the past couple of months the price of XLM surged faster than Bitcoin, Ethereum and almost any other coin from the top 10.

Therefore, our forecast is that XLM will keep growing. As for Ripple, we’re not so sure. We don’t want to give any investment advice, but if you have any lumens in your XLMwallet, you should definitely leave them there. By the end of 2020, you may be able to get a good profit, while XRP might eventually lose a lot of what it’s gained since March.

Stellar is firmly occupying the 13th spot on the list of the cryptocurrencies with the largest market cap. Last week, we witnessed yet another proof of lumens’ potential: as all the coins dropped on June 02, it was XLM to recover faster than others.

There was a veritable crypto massacre on June 2, when the price of Bitcoin fell by 8% in just five minutes. As usual, other coins followed, with Stellar also losing 8%:

https://xlmwallet.co/

The Bitcoin sell-off was predictable. As soon as BTC makes a move beyond the psychologically important $10,000 mark, whales start selling. Plus, we feel that there are still many miners who have been stashing their mining proceeds for the past few months, waiting for a rally. They decided to hold on to their coins just after the halving, when the expected price explosion didn’t happen.

In fact, data suggests that over 60% of all Bitcoins in active circulation haven’t moved for several months. This is a major indicator of a HODLing sentiment in the market. But as soon, as there’s a bullish move, HODLers jump on the opportunity and sell.

As we’ve said, XLM dropped 8% from $0.083519 to $0.076917. That was a major disappointment to many traders and investors, as Stellar had been on a roll for the whole preceding week since May 26. During that period, it gained an amazing 29%, going from $0.06459 to $0.08352. There were all the reasons to expect a move above $0.10 — a very important mark for XLM.

However, after the ‘massacre’ it was finally Stellar’s time to shine. If you look at the chart for the past month, you can see that the drop was just the deepest among the many recent corrections on the way to a local peak of $0.085514 on June 4:

https://xlmwallet.co/

This marked an overall rise by 32% in just 10 days — an amazing result for a top-20 coin.

What about the slight downward movement that came after? It represents another 7% slump, but from a much higher peak. In the opinion of the XLMwallet analysts, this is nothing more than a regular correction before a new bullish stretch.

The key resistance level to break through will be $0.088. If Stellar manages to overcome it, there’s hardly any obstacles on the way to $0.10.

On the fundamentals side of things, there isn’t much to report: the Stellar Foundation has kept quiet in the past couple of weeks. Therefore, we can expect the price of XLM to largely follow that of Bitcoin. Here, there are more reasons to expect further growth, as BTC miners are quickly returning to the network. The average block time is now at its lowest since 2014: a bit over 8.5 minutes. Of course, mining difficulty will be soon adjusted upward, but generally such ‘difficulty runs’ are a very bullish sign.

Bloomberg updated its BTC price forecast to $20,000 by the end of 2020. A doubling of the BTC price can produce a rise of at least 80% in the price of XLM, taking it all the way to $0.18 or even higher. Therefore, our advice to everyone who is holding lumens in their XLMwallet remains the same: hold.

Don’t get us wrong: we love it when you use our fast, light-weight wallet to send XLM to your friends or pay for goods and services online. Stellar is indeed one of the best cryptocurrencies for payments. But right now the wisest thing is to HODL. If you need to pay in crypto, rather pay in stablecoins.

It’s been three weeks since the Bitcoin halving, but the rally so many were waiting for didn’t happen, at least for now. Stellar is consolidating and seems to be going up. When can you expect significant gains? As always XLMwallet analytics offer a forecast.

Stellar is still trying to recover from the big hit it took on May 10, together with Bitcoin and the rest. It went from $0.072 to $0.064 — a 12% fall. It scrapped a lot of the gains made in the previous month.

https://xlmwallet.co/

What happened? Why did XLM fall so much? Don’t panic — and definitely don’t sell. If you hold lumens in your XLMwallet, continue to do so. (We hope you do, because XLMwallet is awesome.)

What happened was a banal Bitcoin liquidation. Just before the halving, there was lots of volatility in the market, with people getting excited. The price started rising and even tried to go beyond $10,000. For Bitcoin, it’s been a very strong level or resistance since last summer.

When the price couldn’t cross the $10k mark, it became clear that the ceiling is reached for now. And people started to sell. The price began to fall. Then, a massive liquidation of short positions followed. Those are the futures positions on exchanges like BitMex: a lot of people were shorting BTC. Once some of the positions automatically closed, the price fell a bit further, more positions were liquidated, the price fell again, and so on. It was a chain reaction. Nothing happened to Bitcoin, nothing happened to Stellar. It was all just a technical process.

Stellar, Ethereum and the others simply followed. That’s the unfortunate reality of crypto: all the altcoins follow BTC, like sheep follow a dog. Bitcoin has been struggling to grow back ever since, and so is Stellar. In addition, there are a lot of Bitcoin miners selling the BTC they accumulated in the past few months, creating additional downward pressure.

What should you do? As we’ve said, definitely not sell. It will take Bitcoin a couple of months to get out of its consolidation stage, and then it can start growing properly, tagging the rest of the coins along. We expect very good gains for Stellar starting from July — definitely higher than where it was in early May.

Moreover, the Stellar Foundation has just made another investment. It gave $550,000 to a startup called SatoshiPay. It’s a micropayments product that is now eyeing an expansion into the B2B territory, mostly to let creators of online content get paid across borders.

As we all know, Stellar is the perfect cryptocurrency for cross-border payments: it’s extremely fast and cheap. As we always say, if you can HODL your lumens in the XLMwallet, do so. But if you have to pay with crypto somewhere, do it with Stellar rather than in BTC. Especially now, after the halving, when the BTC transaction fee has risen above $3 — many thousands of times more than with XLM!

In a few words: our advice for XLM owners is hold. A rally is coming, though we’ll have to wait a couple of months for it. We’re pretty sure that the worst for Stellar is over this year, and the only way to go is up.

Every week, we bring you fresh news and forecasts for Stellar lumens. And our forecasts have been correct so far: the price is growing. If you are hodling XLM in your XLMwallet, you’re being wise, because the fundamentals are all in Stellar’s favor!

A lot of things can happen in one month, and for Stellar all the change has been positive! Just look at this chart:

From $0.05 to $0.07 — that’s a 40% increase! Well done, Stellar, we believed in you. After all those months in the red, people are starting to rediscover the power of Stellar — the best crypto for payments, in our opinion.

Now that the Bitcoin halving has come and gone and the coronavirus pandemic situation is getting better, you should be asking: what’s next for Stellar? Is the global recession good for it? Is the end of the pandemic good for it?

In our opinion, the answer is yes and yes. You see, Stellar is fantastic for cross-border payments. And who sends most such payments? That’s right, people who work abroad and send remittances home. For months now they’ve been stuck without work. But as the virus recedes and the economy starts to recover, these hundreds of millions of workers will start sending money home again.

It’s inevitable that they turn to crypto sooner or later. Sending money with wire transfers and Western Union is expensive — and now is not the time to waste any money. When those work migrants set out to look for the cheapest way to make a remittance, they’ll come upon Stellar.

In just 3–5 seconds, you can get money from any point in the world virtually for free. This is the power of XLM. Can you imagine those workers sending money in BTC, waiting for an hour for their transaction to confirm and paying $1 every time? Once they find out that they could be paying virtually zero, they won’t even look at Bitcoin.

Of course, there’s the question of cashing out your XLM. It’s not as easy to convert lumens into fiat as it is with BTC, but it’s definitely possible. Perhaps we’ll even write a whole post about it!

The recent partnerships that we wrote about last time are another proof that Stellar is making fast progress on the way to being a major means of payment and investment. The consequences of the coronavirus will give it another push that it needs. So, our forecast is: up and up. If you have Stellar in your XLMwallet, definitely keep them there.

As for precise figures, we expect the price to rise to $0.1 by August. That’s another 40%, but we think it’s totally doable for Stellar.

Now, we always tell you that XLMwallet is the perfect wallet to send lumens to your friends and pay for goods and services. And that’s true — we don’t know of any other wallet that would be so light, fast and easy to use. But this time, we advise you to hold on to your XLM. If you need to make a purchase, rather do it in some other cryptocurrency. Because if you spend your Stellar now that in 3 months it grows by 40%, how will you feel? Disappointed, right?

Do you agree with our $0.01-by-August prediction? If not, share your own forecast in the comments.

Whatever happens in the crypto market in these coming weeks, our advice remains the same: hold on to your lumens. Stellar’s fundamentals are very strong, and with several new partnerships in the pipeline we expect a surge later this year.

If you have some lumens in your XLMwallet, you are probably wondering what to do with them right now. Should you wait for a price rally after the Bitcoin halving and then sell? Or HODL for some time longer? Or perhaps use lumens to pay for goods and services online, given that it’s so easy with the fast and user-friendly XLMwallet?

Our advice would be to hold on to your XLM. We’ve been following the Stellar Foundation, and some of the recent news are extremely optimistic. After all, the long-term price isn’t about speculation — it’s about adoption. And Stellar was created as a currency for payments, especially cross-border. So any new partnership or project aimed at using Stellar improves its price outlook.

Branching out into investments with Abra

The first project we should talk about is Abra — a company in which the Stellar Foundation has just invested $5 million. It’s the largest sum of money that Stellar ever gave to another startup.

Abra is a financial services & investment app founded in 2014. Among other things, it allows users to invest in ETFs, send remittances and even perform fiat-crypto transactions in some countries, like the Philippines. In total, it operates in 155 countries. Before the current round, Abra already raised $40m, so it’s a well-established company.

Under the terms of the partnership, Abra will soon transfer to the Stellar blockchain. For Stellar, this means a huge new user base and access to new markets, as well as great use cases. Just think about it: you’ll be able to send your lumens from the XLMwallet to Abra in an instant and buy a share in an ETF investment fund, for example. We are excited!

Launching security tokens with DSTOQ

About 3 months ago, SDF made another investment — this time in the security token platform DSTOQ. The startup received $700k from Stellar. DSTOQ is a trading platform targeting emerging markets.

The Liechtenstein-based DSTOQ already uses the Stellar blockchain to create tokenized securities. For example, it offers assets pegged to the stocks of major corporations, like Amazon and Google, These assets are available to traders from all over the world, including countries where they would have trouble buying the actual stocks.

By the way, Stellar’s investment department was created very recently, in September 2019. So far it hasn’t made many investments, but these two show that Stellar means business. This initiative will surely lead to increased adoption of Stellar, including in the real economy.

We are sure that these and other upcoming investment projects will be far more important for the price of lumens than the halving of Bitcoin. So, if you are ok with long-term investment, we recommend that you don’t sell your XLM just yet. In fact, it may be better to wait until 2021!

For now, your Stellar coins are 100% safe in the XLMwallet. And if you decide to send them to someone, you’ll appreciate how intuitive and fast our wallet is. You can even link someone’s Stellar address to their email and make one-click payments!

We’ll keep monitoring the market for you, bringing you all the news about using and investing in Stellar. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter!

We kept telling you in our previous posts that Stellar was in for large gains. If you followed our advice and stocked up on some lumens, you’re probably very pleased now, because XLM gained 190% in just one month. The question is, what should you do now, less than 2 weeks before the Bitcoin halving?

Stellar spent months lagging behind the other top-10 coins — even in the second half of March, when BTC, ETH and others rallied after the ‘black Thursday’ on March 13. But, if you’ve been following our updates, we were very bullish on Stellar all this time. It’s a coin with a great potential and a strong real-world use case, so sooner or later XLM had to break out.

And around April 4, the rally began — with some local corrections, of course. As you can see from the chart, it’s been very impressive, with the price rising from $0.04 to $0.073.

Stellar also appreciated against BTC, so if you have converted some of your satoshis into XLM a while ago (as we did), you’re happily in green right now.

At the same time, Stellar remains on its no.11 spot in the top-20 by market cap. We are certain that it will break into the top-10 soon, though.

Now the question is, what should you do with the appreciated Stellar coins lying in your XLMwallet?

Should you sell?

What should you expect after such an intense rally? Is there more potential for growth? Or will the XLM price go down now?

Right now the crypto community is waiting for the Bitcoin halving, which will probably happen on May 13. In the first days after the halving the BTC price will most probably go up, so it’s a good speculative opportunity. Traders understand that, and in the coming days they will probably increase their Bitcoin holdings by selling other assets — including Stellar. So we can expect a temporary pullback, perhaps by more than 10%.

But this will only be a short-term decrease, not a true bearish trend. The Bitcoin price rally after the halving won’t last long, because many will start selling their BTC. By the way, many miners have been holding on to their Bitcoins since January, waiting for this moment. Once a big BTC sell-off begins, other crypto can start growing — a sort of a delayed rally. At this point the price of Stellar will recover and grow even higher.

So, if your objective is short-term speculative gain, you can indeed sell at least some of your XLM. But if you’re after maximizing your profits, we suggest that you hodl your lumens at least until July, better even September. That’s also when the global economy will begin to recover from the coronavirus, and the crypto market will probably react positively, too.

Time to adjust your portfolio

By the way, do you know that you can store not only Stellar in the XLMwallet? Our fast and light wallet supports any assets created on the Stellar blockchain. Stellar is a great platform for building crypto projects, and it’s becoming more popular thanks to its near-zero deployment costs. So perhaps now is a good moment to research some recent projects that launched on Stellar and add some new tokens to your portfolio. In XLMwallet, you’ll see all your assets displayed on the same page, with the latest price quotes from CoinMarketCap to make portfolio management even easier.

The next time we meet will probably be very near to the Bitcoin halving — a key date in the crypto calendar for 2020. We are feeling positive about its results, but it will take some months to see the full results. Meanwhile, store your lumens in XLMwallet — the fastest, easiest to use, and most secure Stellar wallet out there!
