10 Oregon ZIP Codes With Most Corona Virus Cases

Corona virus is spreading more pervasively across a growing number of communities statewide as surging case counts can no longer be largely attributed to concentrations in only a handful of ZIP codes across Oregon.

State data released by the Oregon Health Authority last week showed 1,402 confirmed or presumed new infections for the week ending June 28, pushing the overall total to 8,485 (it’s since grown to more than 10,000 with new ZIP code data to be released Wednesday).

Corona Statistics

Those new cases were more geographically diverse than in recent weeks. Some 21 ZIP codes accounted for roughly half of the newest cases. In the past, 14 or fewer ZIP codes typically accounted for half of the newly identified cases.

In all, 41 ZIP codes across Oregon reported at least 10 new cases in the state’s most recent weekly report, an analysis by The Oregonian/OregonLive shows. The new cases were identified broadly across Oregon, including two ZIP codes from the Portland suburb of Lake Oswego and even the communities of Irrigon and Boardman in rural Morrow County.
