Apple released iOS 13.4.5 beta 1 for everyone

Apple’s standard beta release cycle lasts two weeks. That is, every 14 (sometimes 15) days, the company tries to release the next test build update its OS. But since testing involves not only developers who receive the update before everyone else, but also ordinary users, Apple has to release closed and public assemblies. The latter, as you know, is intended for participants in the early access program from among ordinary users. And so that releases do not overlap, the company releases them with a difference of a week. But in the case of iOS 13.4.5, things went awry.

iOS 13.4.5 became available for public testing

Today, in the third week after the release of the first beta version of iOS 13.4.5, Apple released an assembly for open testing. Public assembly is no different from that intended for developers, and therefore contains all the same innovations. Well, at least in theory, because the early access program participants couldn’t detect any noticeable changes in iOS 13.4.5, despite the fact that the weight of the update, depending on the device, varies between 3-3.5 GB, which is quite a lot for the update through passage.

How to install beta iOS 13.4.5

  • To install the first beta version of iOS 13.4.5, go to the Apple website dedicated to the early access program and log in;
  • Open the “Register your devices” tab;
  • Scroll down and download the current beta profile;

If you log in from your iPhone or iPad, the download button will be highlighted in blue.

  • In the "Settings" click "Profile loaded", and then install it;
  • After that, go to the "Software Update" section of the "Settings" application and search for the latest update;
  • Download the current beta build and install it.

Why you should not install iOS beta

It is important to understand that test builds, especially earlier ones, are not very stable. Therefore, you need to be prepared for the fact that you will encounter interface problems, crashes, premature discharge of the battery and even complete deletion of data. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you not install beta on your main device, and if you do not have another option, be sure to save a backup copy so that you can recover if something goes wrong during the upgrade process.
Despite the fact that Apple does not disclose the exact release date for iOS 13.4.5, there is a high probability that the update will be released from April 23 to May 1. It was at this time that the company will begin to send out the first buyers of the iPhone SE 2020, which, most likely, will be running the Golden Master version. Technically, this is still a test update build, which, nevertheless, has the same number as the release one and at the same time has all the same functions. As a rule, during testing the Golden Master version of Apple does not make any changes to the OS, but simply checks its performance.
