Connext №6. Contributor Program [ENG Version].
[<-Connext №5] [RUS Version] [Menu] [ENG Version]
In the previous lesson, you and I broke down what the $NEXT token is for and who can get it. Yes, snapshots of early users and routers were taken, but that's not the only way to get tokens.
Connext has launched an incentive Contributor Program, which we'll talk about next.
Table of contents
What is this and what is it for?
The Ambassador (Contributor) Program is a collaboration between crypto projects and ordinary users at the start or in the process of launching a project, in order to introduce new users to the project and promote it to the masses.
Users can voluntarily participate in the development and promotion of the project, for which they can later be awarded in the form of cash, NFT or project tokens.
But why does the team need all this when they can do it themselves?
- Mass adoption. When introducing information to the masses, the material explained in simple words, in the words of bloggers or crypto-enthusiasts is perceived much better.
- Find Talents. Using this kind of interaction, the team can find future employees who are burning with the same ideas and will be ready to promote these ideas in a number of official staff members.
- Increased efficiency. Of course, people are not computers and do not create and process operations in fractions of seconds, we need a certain amount of time to do a particular job. But one or two people in a team, will not be able to do the necessary amount of work in the shortest time, and to hire more employees is a big waste of money, which is also limited.
Connext Contributor Program
On April 20, 2022, the Connext contributor program began.
This incentive program is developed to encourage community members with diverse backgrounds and skills to take ownership of key aspects of the ecosystem;
Participants in the program will receive points based on the quality of their contribution to the ecosystem. After the launch of the $NEXT token and Connext DAO, a proposal will be created to retrospectively reward participants with $NEXT tokens based on the points they earn.
This program is divided into phases and the first of them began just on April 20 this year. It will last until the launch of the token and DAO.
After that, there will be phases 2 and 3 within a few more months.
Tracks
This program touches on absolutely different skills and talents that you can bring out in yourself. You can choose to do work in the following areas:
- Community Leaders are the face of Connext to the community. They provide outstanding support to users, communicate updates and relevant information about Connext, and generally serve and protect the community leading by example.
- Builders focus on building, obviously. They create new ways to utilize Connext and drive volume to the system. They also have a keen interest in producing technical content that can support, educate, and inspire other developers in the broader ecosystem.
- Content & Education track members create content that spreads Connext’s vision and educates the broader community about bridges, trustless crosschain communication, and our technology.
- Routers are the liquidity and infrastructure providers of the Connext network. Their main purpose is to relay funds and calldata across chains. In exchange, they receive fees for their services. Members of this track can spin up Connext routers themselves on testnet, or help to build supporting infrastructure for the router community.
- Grants are a little different from the other tracks. Rather than signing up directly, contributors should apply for this track after they have successfully received a grant from Connext to build something unique that doesn’t nearly fall into the other tracks. We’re excited to see what you’ll build!

How to participate?
1. Join the Discord channel Connext;
2. Fill out the form to participate in the program. Answer all questions honestly; all information provided will be verified.
3. Wait for the KYC (Know Your Customer) email to the email address on the form.
4. After passing the KYC, wait for the document from DocuSign that we will need to sign.
5. After you sign the document, our Discord channel will give you the "Contributor" role.
6. In the #select-track-role thread, choose the track you are interested in.
7. Let's start doing the work. The most important thing is quality. If you think that making 10k memes or 100 stickers and you will get the maximum number of points, you are very much mistaken.
8. Around June 6 a form will be open where we will once again confirm our track and send all the accumulated work.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading this course to the end! I hope it was useful for you and I shed some light on the world of Connext and their product Connext Bridge.
This project is really worth your attention and the time you can spend for creating this or that content for Connext.
