Connext №4. How to use Connext Bridge? [ENG Version]

[<-Connext №3] [RUS Version] [Menu] [ENG Version] [Connext №5->]

Connext Bridge (previously xPolinate) is a cross-chain bridge, which is built on the Connext protocol, using NXTP. With Connext Bridge we can transfer tokens from one chain to another.

As of this writing, Connext Bridge supports 17 of the most used networks, both Layer 1 and Layer 2. And it supports 9 different types of assets, such as:

  • ETH;
  • WBTC;
  • DAI/USDC/USDT/FEI;
  • GRT;
  • GTH;
  • BOBA.

Now we will finally move from theory to practice and try the first xApp built on Connext. Let's not hesitate and get started!

Guide

1. Go to the Connext Bridge website.

2. Connect your favorite wallet.

This tutorial will look at an example of interacting with an application through the Metamask wallet, so I choose that.

3. Select the network and the asset we want to send.

In this example I send ETH from the L2 network Arbitrum.

4. Choose a receiving network.

In this example, we choose Polygon as the receiving network.

5. Enter the amount of ETH we want to send.

6. Press the "Swap" button.

7. Check the exchange details, and if everything is fine, click "Confirm".

8. Wait until the transaction is completed and claim your funds by clicking on the "Claim Funds" button, then sign the contract.

9. Enjoy a successful transfer of funds from one network to another.

The process for transferring ETH to other networks is similar to the above.

And the entire transaction from one network to another took only 2 minutes, which is very impressive!

Additional Information

If you want to see previous transactions, click on "Transactions" button at the top of the screen, where you will see a list of all your interactions.

Here we can see basic information about our transfers, such as:

  • TXID;
  • Status;
  • Sender/Recipient Network;
  • Asset and amount of transferred funds;
  • Approximate date of interaction.

If we click on the "TX ID" of our transfer, we will see more detailed information about the transfer.

On the page that opens, we get the following information:

  • Asset and amount of transferred funds;
  • Router address;
  • Transaction hash of the "Prepare" stage transaction on the outgoing/incoming network;
  • The transaction hash of the "Fill" stage on the outgoing/incoming network;
  • Send/Receive execution block;
  • Status;
  • Execution time, etc.

Well, we've learned how to use Connext Bridge, now we have to talk about their Ambassador Program, but we'll talk about that in the next part, so:

To be continued...
