Program overview

Sei launches the first incentivized testnet for validators and participants. As the developers call "Operation: Seinami" or "Seinami Incentivized Testnet.

As in any other project, before launching the mainnet the team wants to make sure that the Sei network meets all the given requirements, and for this purpose it is necessary to stress-test, and this is the task the developers entrusted to us.

Seinami's aim: to identify any bugs or flaws in the protocol before the mainnet runs. The most remarkable thing for us users is that the team will give out rewards in the form of tokens to all participants who complete tasks and find bugs.

Date: Seinami Testnet starts July 11, 2022, and the program will be approximately 9 weeks long.

This tentative schedule is subject to change, so be sure to join Discord and follow the channels for updates and announcements.

Why participate?

Seinami Testnet provides unique opportunities for early engagement and plays a key role in the development of the Sei ecosystem:

  • ✅ Rewards.
The rewards themselves, you just spend your time helping the project develop, and in return you get a generous reward.
All testnet missions are worth a certain number of "points", which directly correspond to the reward in the form of $SEI tokens. At the end of the testnet period, the scores of all validators and participants will be calculated and the rewards in the form of tokens will be distributed
  • 🤝 Familiarizing yourself with the Sei network
No closed betas. No whitelisting. Joining Seinami Testnet is the single best way to get familiar with the Sei Network before launch. The team wants to enable validators, developers, and participants to interact with the Sei Network by setting up nodes, wallets, making transactions, and voting on management proposals.
  • 🏗️ Help shape the protocol
Sei deeply appreciates the comments, criticism, and concerns of early adopters and participants. By joining Seinami Testnet, you can directly provide feedback
to the team and shape the Sei Network as it grows and matures.

Seinami will consist of 4 unique acts, each with a different focus and purpose. In general, the acts are designed to test the Sei Network validator setup, usability, security and management.
Each act will consist of clearly defined tasks* for Seinami Testnet validators and participants.

* Find the active list of tasks here

But don't think that you'll only get a "thank you" as a reward, that's not true. In the course of completing the tasks you will receive points. At the end of the testnet, SEI coin rewards will be distributed in proportion to the points earned.
And for the rewards, the team has allocated 1% of the SEI coin issue.

In order to gather a diverse and worthy lineup of participants, the program is focused on several themes:

  • Validation and Node Operations — performing technical tasks related to operating a validator and testing core protocol features (running a node, performance stress testing, etc.)
  • Usability and Feature Testing — targeted testing of Sei Network’s unique new features. Let’s see if we can break the economic model (economic exploits, maxing out network rewards, sybil attacks, etc.)

Acts of Seinami

Act 1: Configuring the validator (finished)

  • Purpose: Setting up the validator to test the workflow and tools;
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Participants: Validators only

Act 2: Exchange and IBC Integration

  • Purpose: To test the exchange and IBC functionality in Sei Network
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Participants: Validators and traders

Act 3: Smart contracts and stress testing

  • Purpose: To allow developers to build on Sei, identify bugs, and make improvements to the source code.
  • Duration: 3 weeks
  • Participants: Validators and developers
  • Bug fixing period: 2 weeks

Act 4: Test controls and bug fixes

  • Purpose: To test all fixes and voting mechanisms before the main network goes live
  • Duration: 2 weeks
  • Participants: Validators, developers and traders

How to participate?

The first thing to understand is who can take part in the test:

Seinami Testnet is open to all community members to participate, but not all participants are eligible for rewards.

Validators, developers, and community members of all stripes are invited to participate, but the following groups will not be eligible for rewards:

  • U.S. residents
  • Residents of prohibited jurisdictions

In addition, even though this is really a competition, everyone must be decent to each other.

Violation of the Rules of Participation or the Code of Conduct, use of software vulnerabilities, use of social engineering attacks to "eliminate" competitors, or use of malware to attack other competitors are grounds for disqualification.

Please note that in order to receive a reward, an identity verification is required.

Now, if you are determined and enthusiastic, you need to submit THIS FORM to register for the Seinami Incentivized Testnet.
