Driving licence in germany

Driver's licence in germany can only be obtatined via a driving school. The licence will be issued by the respective town/city traffic authorities, but the application for the licence can only be made by a driving school. This means that holders of a german driving licence resident in the uk must exchange it for a british driving licence by 19 january 2033 or their 70th birthday.
