New Innovation and Perception In Agricultural Biotechnology

Agricultural biotechnology, is an area of agricultural science that involves the use of scientific tools and techniques, including genetic engineering, molecular markers, molecular diagnostics, vaccines, and tissue culture, to modify living organisms: plants, animals, and microorganisms. It helps in modifying plants, animals, and microorganisms and improve their agricultural productivity.

The world's population is increasing rapidly therefore if we don't increase our agricultural produce there will be a time that hunger will overtake the world . The only way we can do this is by the adoption of the method s of agricultural biotechnology. So the question is what is agricultural biotechnology. Agricultural biotechnology, also known as agritech, is an area of agricultural science involving the use of scientific tools and techniques, including genetic engineering, molecular markers, molecular diagnostics, vaccines, and tissue culture, to modify living organisms: plants, animals, and microorganisms. Crop biotechnology is one aspect of agricultural biotechnology which has been greatly developed upon in recent times. Desired trait are exported from a particular species of Crop to an entirely different species.

Agriculture Biotechnology is a modern range of tools that scientists use to understand and manipulate the genetic make-up of organisms for use in the production or processing of agricultural products. This level of biotechnology is being used to help look at the many different problems that pop up in the area of agricultural production and processing. When looking at agriculture biotechnology some of the ways in which it is being used is in genetic engineering, molecular markers, molecular diagnostics, vaccines, and tissue cultures. Like for all biotechnology products that are being produced a period of research must be done before the products are ready for commercial release, but the products that do emerge have had great commercial success.

Some of the products that have emerged from agriculture biotechnology are genetically engineered crops. The traits that have most commonly been introduced into crops are herbicide tolerance, insect tolerance, and virus tolerance. Other engineered products that have been produced are things such Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH), which was produced to help increase milk production in cows, and tomatoes that delay ripening to allow for a longer shelf life. Other products that are in the process of becoming commercialized are producing livestock that have leaner meat, goats and sheep that are able to secrete bioactive molecules through their blood, urine, and milk, and engineering pigs to allow for their organs to be used for human transplant recipients. The area of agricultural biotechnology has a very bright future and it appears that many new and exciting products are on their way.
