The Red Village overview: promising P2E that still has no token
It's rare to come across blockchain game startups with a finished product and even rarer to come across a finished product without a native token. But The Red Village is such an example. At first glance, it appears to be just another RPG game, but the team is actively working to develop the project and grow its audience. Also, it has already successfully integrated P2E elements.
You can already watch the gameplay of The Red Village, take part in it, and even purchase a native NFT. Isn't it more than just a whitepaper and concept art?
About The Red Village
The Red Village is a Dark Fantasy RPG focused on PvP battles. It has already been released on the Ethereum blockchain and includes gameplay with NFT character integration. Furthermore, the characters can be traded on the third-party marketplace Hawku.
The participant assumes the role of the Battlemaster, who gathers champions in his barracks, upgrades them, and engages in combat with other players (prehistory). PvP is turn-based and may not appear dynamic enough, but keep in mind that this is still beta:
Tokenomics
The Red Village lacks developed tokenomics and a native utility token, but these things are expected to be available soon. However, the project already has a basic game economy that consists of:
NFT collection - Сhampions are the core of The Red Village's gameplay. The team has already implemented two NFT collections that are available on side marketplaces at this time.
P2E elements - players can already earn by participating in tournaments. There are currently no native tokens used for this, but the team will soon fix it.
Thus, The Red Village will eventually develop into a full-fledged blockchain game with P2E mechanics.
Investors and team
The Red Village raised $6.5M in a seed round. There have been 24 investors and partners, including such great funds as Animoca Brands, Polygon Studios, KUCOIN Ventures, and others:
The project's core team is depicted on the website. There are many people on the team, but none of them have represented social media account:
The project's game director has been nominated for an Emmy Award, and the game strategic consultant has worked on Diablo II, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Assassin's Creed, and Silent Hill. Rob Salha and Chris Laurent, who co-founded ZED RUN, are its chief strategy consultants.
Our conclusion
The Red Village is not and doesn't pretend to become a AAA project. The game appears relatively simple and of lower graphic quality than many new P2E projects. However, The Red Village has a valuable in-game asset - NFT champions, that can attract both NFT-lovers and RPG players.
However, the main benefit of The Red Village is that it is a functioning product that has not yet been tokenized. The DeLa team continues to monitor the project, as there is still not enough information about tokenomics to make concrete decisions. But at the moment, The Red Village looks promising.
