Overview of Memoverse: pioneer of Memorize to Earn
The uniqueness of GameFi projects is that they use technologies and economic incentives to connect games and real life. We've seen how the Move to Earn helps shape a physical activity habit, and Learn to Earn stimulates people to discover something new. We expect that the variety of mechanics that transfer knowledge and habits through games will only increase.
Memoverse is a good example: it uses GameFi technology and economic incentives to help people improve their mnemonic skills and memory. Memoverse does it entertainingly, with no stress and discomfort for the players.
About Memoverse
Memoversre is a project that helps boost memory and mnemonic skills through game activities. It's metaverse with Play to Earn, Learn to Earn and its new branch - Memorize to Earn mechanics. At first glance, Memoversre looks like a typical building simulator, but it's not so simple.
The developers linked the game and memorization through the mnemonic concept of "Memory Palace". Its essence is to build an imaginary palace with rooms and interiors - each interior object is called Loci. You need to locate Loci in a specific place of interior and link information and object by the association. For example, to memorize a seed phrase, you need to create a room with 12 objects, link each item to a specific word, and line up an imaginary path from the object to the object.
Building such palaces in the imagination is challenging but much easier in the 3D metaverse. So the player not only creates a unique location but puts his information into it. In fact, he encrypts the memories in rooms of his 3D Palace.
Activities
BUILD-TO-EARN - Memoverse world is an open map divided into lands with the Memory Palaces of players. The player's task is to build his Palace using different types of NFTs: lands, palaces, rooms, and items (Loci). By combining NFT, users can create unique structures and interiors.
MEMORIZE-TO-EARN - players can also participate in mnemonic tournaments to earn native $MEMO tokens. Players create a $MEMO prize pool, then go to the random Palace (its owner gets a reward for each game). Competitors have time to memorize the location of Loci, after which it is randomly replaced. Players must back all interior objects to start positions as quickly as possible.
PLAY-TO-EARN - users can attack other players' palaces to steal Loci NFT from the throne room. To do this, they must avoid traps and hit the mnemonic record of the Palace's defender (owner). The defender and attacker competition are the same as the memo tournaments. Once for 8 hours, the defender can move items and create new traps to complicate following attacks.
NFT-marketplace - NFT trading on the internal marketplace helps earn an additional $MEMO. The project supports EIP-998 and the ERC165 standard - (un)composite NFT, which allows the owner to split gaming NFT for parts or gather it into one token. For example, a player can sell an interior object, a set of items, a room, several rooms, or even the entire Palace as 1 NFT. Also, he can sell NFT on external marketplaces.
In-game tokens
The in-game economy is based on two types of tokens:
$MEMO - Utilitarian BEP 20 token of Memoverse. It is used for trading NFT on the native marketplace, staking, voting, access to exclusive content, IDO participation, and NFT mint. Almost any action in the game will require $MEMO, which increases the internal value of the token:
NFTs - several types of NFTs will be available at the start:
The key parameters of each NFT are the rarity and size. It's random; a player can see it only after opening a loot box. Players can create their Memory Palaces by combining various NFTs.
Add that Each Loci NFT generates a certain amount of $MEMO per day, depending on its characteristics. A player can increase the mining efficiency by arranging Palace with Loci from a specific set.
$MEMO tokenomics
Liquidity vesting: 20% on TGE; 6 months cliff; then 3% monthly linear ulock.
Seed - 8% on TGE; 3 months cliff; then 4.5% monthly linear ulock.
Private - 10% on TGE; 3 months cliff; then 4.6% monthly linear ulock.
Team and Partners
A complete list of Memoverse partners and investors is available on the website:
The project team includes 16 members. You can see the 6 leading project developers with their social accounts. It is pleasing that both developers with experience in creating AAA games and specialists in mnemonics and smart contracts are involved in the development:
Memoverse pros and cons
Experienced team and strong partners - key team members have experience in top projects in various fields and have LinkedIn profiles. Among the partners are Morningstar Ventures' top funds, GameFi-organizations, and niche projects that can give Memoversre everything for a good start.
Demonstration of Product - above, we showed a demo of the Palace editor. On Twitter and the website, you can find videos and screenshots showing elements of gameplay and the game world. Everything looks pretty good.
The original mechanics - P2E becomes trivial for many users, but L2E games are still rare and Memorize to Earn it's perhaps a unique mechanic for now. Memoversre can build a new niche and get all the advantages of a pioneer or take the top position in the L2E sector.
Specificity - Memoversre forces players to memorize. Of course, you can just stuff your Palace with Loci and mine $MEMO, but to participate in tournaments, attack, or even protect your NFT from other players, you need to understand and use the Memory Palace concept.
Comparatively weak social networks - 54.9K followers on Twitter, 48.6K on Telegram, and 10.7K on Discord - it's not bad results, but the team is not so active. For example, there have been only 66 tweets on Twitter since November 2021. However, the active promotion is still ahead.
Our conclusion
Memoverse is a really unusual and promising project that can create a Memorize to Earn niche in the GameFi field. A successful start could bring all the advantages of a pioneer and a dominant position in its market sector. It adds confidence that the project's developing according to the road map, and the Memoverse team include experienced specialists in various fields. We will likely see the full launch of Memoverse by the end of the year.
True, as a pioneer of Memoverse has additional risks. The main one is the rejection of the new mechanics by the players. Although Memorize to Earn looks exciting and unusual, we still do not know if this idea will be able to get mass adoption. DeLa's team continues to follow the project.
