Zandik research path
...Zandik's Notes interesting but very confusing plot element. In the new desert areas, we can see two new golems: in Valley of Dahri and in Gurabad, which Zandik also visited.After reading the notes, this question arise: what is the sequence of these?
The first information about Zandik appears in vicinity of the Ardravi Valley, and also on the one of bulletin board in Sumeru city. From these notes, the general details of the story become clear: Trainee Dastur Zandik joins research team from Amurta darshan, which studying the forest ecosystem in Ardravi Valley and impact of the growth of withering zones on it. However, during the study of flora and fauna, Zandik shows interest in ancient mechanisms. This information can be found from Sohreh's note in a cave near Golem in Devantaka Mountain. This golem contains a Zandik's note, where he writes about details of huge mechanisms he has found. These mechanisms made such an impression on him that he almost delayed his main work here. And Zandik decides to keep his research about this mechanisms a secret from others.
Next notes located in between Vimara village and port Ormos. In these notes describes Sohreh's wound and autopsy their corpse, reprimand and expulsion of Zandik, and description of mechanisms. Last one gives us more information about Zandik's intentions. This note named "Akademiya Investigation Team’s Interim Report". Noteworthy, in English and Russian translations, the “Gurabad samples” is used in the plural, while in Chinese talking about a huge walking mechanism, which is similar to a group of smaller mechanisms (ruin guard, for example) in Ardravi Valley. With Desert of Hadramaveth release, it becomes obvious that Zandik meant the golem from there.
We can conclude that Zandik has already seen the “Gurabad” golem, since he compares it with ruin guards and other mechanisms from the Ardravi Valley. However, he most likely hasn't visited golem from Valley of Dahri , since he does not mention it, he only remembered the legend of the ruins of Dahri. Also important, in this note there is a signature at the end: “Recorder, Trainee Dastur, Zandik”, that means he was still part of the research team. Then the scholars walk a little, during which the automaton is attacked they, Zohreh dies, and Zandik is removed from research team.
There's a note on the bulletin board in Sumeru city, where incoherent information is presented in fragmentary words:
"...Zandik...following the delisting...regarding Eleazar...but lacking evidence..."
Zandik's next note appears in the Valley of Dahri Golem. The note reads that the golem has less damage than the automaton from Devantaka Mountain. Zandik also notes that details found among the ruin guards in the Ardravi Valley fit for installation in the ”Gurabad sample". But the documents – which would describe the system of the golems' power system – have been lost. And Zandik has too important mission to deal with their recovery. This is the end of note.
There are two reports of the Academy's research team nearby, in which written that all automatons from the Khaenri'ah must be sealed, and “Incomplete Medical Records” describing the transformation of human into hilichurl. How it is relate with Zandik - there is no information.
At the time of version 3.4, the Gurabad golem also has a note by Zandik, but this is a duplicate of the note from Valley of Dahri . (Perhaps this is a mistake). Also in this golem, after complete the quest, there are “Restored Blueprints of a Mechanical Behemoth’s Power System":
"Azariq left this document in the control cabin. It seems to be a transcribed copy. The document has been cobbled together from writings done by many hands, so it is likely not the original…"
In other words, the lost documents, mentioned in the Valley of Dahri Golem, were recreated anew. And in this drawing mentioned the documents and records of the golem's research from Devantaka Mountain.
We can summarize: Zandik discovered the Gurabad golem and tried to start it, but mechanisms were broken, so he start to search a spare-parts. Some time later, he joined research team from Amurta darshan to gain access to the mechanisms from Ardravi Valley:
"Collected a lot of components, these spare parts of the huge machine, if only I could figure out its working principle and manufacturing process"
And during the next study the ruin guard there was an accident with the group and Sohreh. After that, Zandik went to Valley of Dahri and explored the golem there, where he concluded that the spare-parts fit the “Gurabad model”, but the documents for controlling were no remained here. It is difficult to say what steps he made next, since there is no information. However, in the world quest, became possible to move the golem, and there were also documents on its controlling. This indicates that the Gurabad golem was more efficient.
