Nikita Mikhalkov's Birthday
On October 21, the outstanding Soviet and Russian film director Nikita Sergeevich Mikhalkov celebrates his birthday.
By the age of 74, Nikita Mikhalkov had shot 16 full-length feature films. 7 of them are included in the Golden Thousand FilmGourmand.
Most of Nikita Mikhalkov's film masterpieces were created several decades ago. Not that, for some reason, Nikita Sergeevich stopped making films (as Georgiy Daneliya did in his time). It's just that the films of the last decades do not reach the level of his paintings, created during the years of Soviet power and in the early 90s.
Perhaps the reason is that Nikita Sergeevich is extremely carried away by journalism, and there is simply no time left to create a good movie. Or maybe the years just take their toll.
Based on the achievements mentioned above, Nikita Mikhalkov is included in the list of 100 greatest world film directors compiled by FilmGourmand.
Nikita Mikhalkov is the only surviving Russian-speaking film director included in the list of 100 greatest world film directors compiled by FilmGourmand. In total, there are 18 Russian-language directors on this list.
In honor of the birthday of the great filmmaker, we want to remind fans of his work shots from his best films included in the Golden Thousand.
