TIFFANY STUDIOS 9TH CENTURY POSTAGE SCALE. Having bands of carved ornaments and deeply cut strap work,this pattern is one of the most elaborate of all Tiffany Studios desk set patterns.
9th Century design usually has grotesque animals associated with them. Tiffany Studios used creative licensing
and used art deco looking animals such as a squirrel featured on this scale.
Further accenting this piece are eight jewels of green and blue glass. Scale is finished with an elaborate top disk and
Crescent front. Signed “Tiffany Studios New York 1627″. SIZE: 3″ x 3″ x 1-1/2”.
TIFFANY STUDIOS VENETIAN POSTAL SCALE. Bronze postal scale is decorated with the Venetian pattern having ermines around the
lower edge and the appearance of strapped leather work overall. Scale is further decorated with an ornate top and crescent front.
Signed on the underside “Tiffany Studios New York 1690″. SIZE: 3-1/2”.
