If you ask me about my favorite nude photography series of the XX century the answer will be "IN MY ROOM" by Soul Leiter.

This amazing photo shoot actually gave birth to the most legendary Angel image of the 90s.

A lot of Irving Penn's methods and tricks became absolute cliches in fashion and artistic photography worldwide (even if trying to use the same technique and creating a masterpiece are two very different things and the latter doesn’t happen too often). It's actually hard to believe now that, for example, putting a simple white or gray background behind your model can be so much of a revolutionary idea for a professional photographer… And yet it was, in the times of Irvin.

Today’s mood is a little bit dark, there is this strong autumn fog covering completely my hidden place in the Italian mountains and making it feel more like London of the XIX century. So the atmosphere is quite acceptable for sharing a photography series by Andrey Yakovlev and Lili Aleeva, an amazing creative duet from Moscow. The shooting is from the 2010s and the level of experimentation in the artistic and fashion environment in Russia was quite high. A lot of fresh things appeared and some of them proved to be extraordinary with time. The duet turned out to be very productive and released many very interesting works during later years, but this old renaissance inspired shooting remains forever my favorite…
