Why people stopped appreciating dogs?
The recent mass poisoning of dogs in Samarkand has sparked a heated discussion on social media. Unfortunately, the Samarkand Veterinary and Livestock Administration, which was supposed to treat, register and vaccinate them in a timely manner, carried out this incident.
There is a saying of the Indian politician Mahatma Gandhi: "The greatness and spiritual development of a nation is determined by its attitude towards animals." It's a shame that we are lagging far behind when it comes to animals.
Nowadays, fortunately, there are people who prove their spirituality by their positive attitude towards animals. Entrepreneur Iroda Matkarimova, who owns her own business, has been collecting documents for four years to create a rescue home for stray dogs "Hayot-Life". Finally, the administration of the Kibray region allocated land. In the beginning, she sold all of her expensive clothing and jewelry to build animal dwellings. There were days when the shelter was happy even with the $0.50 donated by a caring old woman.
Now in "Hayot" life is in full swing, newborn dogs carry orphans puppies, and animals are taken to the city for veterinary examination. Why did Iroda, who has his own business, a good business, organize such a project for stray animals, like a person who has no other job, as some say? Because she loves animals with special kindness. She internally feels that they have a soul, that they are living beings. With her eyes closed, she can tell where each dog came from and how it is now. Each of over 700 different dog breeds has its own name, history and destiny.
Prey Teddy
- When Teddy came here, he was afraid of dogs, he was afraid of people, there was no healthy spot on his body, - said Iroda. - We looked after him, treated him, and, as you can see, he began to step on his hind legs.
Hear how wild and cruel people are. They forced little Teddy into dog fights and used her as bait to warm up the blood of the larger dogs. After Teddy's entire body began to bleed, they warmed up and were ready for a more brutal battle. It's hard to even imagine.
It is especially a pity that not everyone understands what will happen to the animal if the house, the shelter, the owners caring for it one day abandon the dog.
Holly – the smartest one
Holly is the most polite and intelligent dog among them. She sits when you tell her to sit up, stands up when you tell her to get up, and holds out her hand when you tell her to do it. But she is very sad. The reason is obvious - she was abandoned by her cherishing owner. She lay in a ditch for three days. This was reported to Iroda. That's where Holly came in.
Now she lies at the feet of the visitor, she does not stand until you get up, she lies with her head on your feet.

Some dogs were housed in separate rooms in a mixed order. Both big and small always swear and argue. But as soon as they hear the voice of Vika Sadykova, saying “calm down”, looking at the animals day and night, they disperse and leave. At this moment, Belka appears from the cage, clinging to the wall.
When we asked them: "She has been here since we arrived, do you take her outside to the other dogs?" - They replied: "You see, she is small, others do not leave her alone, and so safer for her," said one of the workers. "In addition, this is her permanent location where she is waiting for its owner." She does not care for food, she needs her caress, that's all she needs.
We stroke Belka gently. She jumps up into our arms with joy, jumps from the place where she hangs, and jumps.
- We meet in front of Parkent Market every Saturday at ten o'clock. As you can see, the volunteers started cleaning the barriers and pouring water into the water tanks, - said Iroda.
Canteen for dogs
A little further - the dog's canteen. In 5 large 100-liter pans, two volunteers fired up the stove and started cooking for the dogs. Chicken heads in one pot, chicken wings in another pot, slaughtered cattle bones in another ...
- Don't you give them raw meat? - we asked the volunteer cooks ...
- Better to boil, raw meat contains various parasites. We feed twice: in the morning we give artificial dry food sold in specialized stores, and in the evening we feed food prepared in these pots.
Every Saturday volunteers and service providers visit our shelter.
- It would not be an exaggeration to say that working with people, especially disabled people, alone and in need of love, brings them back to life, - said Iroda.

- I study dogs, there is no smarter animal, - says the junior inspector of the canine service of the Internal Affairs Directorate Sergeant Kobyljon Mirzakhmedov. - If you make friends with them, they will never betray you. The efforts of Iroda Matkarimova should be considered as heroism. We must continue our cooperation. So far we have taken two dogs. Now they also have a family. Dogs named Feya and Grek will now become part of our family.
Belka's dream come true
Belka, who constantly poked her head out of the cage and waited for your affection, now has an owner. A woman named Zhenya decided to take her to her home.
- I brought my children here to instill in children a love for animals from an early age. Among so many dogs, there are many more beautiful, attention-grabbing and caring ones. But what impressed me most was Belka's eyes, full of hope and expectation. I felt that she really really wanted a family. My children also unanimously said that we will take her. Next week I decided to get another dog ...

After the volunteers who arrived presented the animals to the dog handlers, Iroda went to work, hanging up her clothes here. We went to the house she was sweeping. The dog that lay there barked at us as if it was about to break out of the cage.
Iroda stopped sweeping and turned to us:
- Be careful, this is the most disobedient dog, it does not recognize anyone but me, - said Iroda.
Obeying the command of the owner, the dog moved aside and lay down.
- He took offense at me, even cried, because usually I went to see him as soon as I came here, but today I was a little busy with guests, and now he didn't even look in my direction, even at the food that I brought. His mouth was gagged when we brought him in. They said that he should be put to sleep because he bit the new owner. I didn't let them do it. And therefore, remembering my kindness, he only lets me into his barrier. There is endless sadness in his eyes…
And now, those who said that this is just a dog, try to say that they have no soul.
Casual visitors who saw Iroda herself cleaning the kennel might not have guessed that this woman was the head of the firm.
- You have workers, so why do you take any job yourself?
- I love animals and want others to follow my example. Where will my love and care for these animals be if I open the shelter, I will only command and indicate. It doesn't matter if the animals know about this love, it is important that they feel comfortable with me, with us ...
Let's give them a chance to live

In the future, there are planned more heated rooms for dogs, separate rooms for cats, a clinic, administrative premises for employees of the institution, a special place for quarantine, with a walking area.

Iroda answers them like this:
- People are born under the protection of the state, under the protection of the family. Sponsors are also showing more kindness to children in orphanages. That is, people always take care of people, at least a person can take care of himself. But an animal is a creature dependent on human hands. He can take care of it if he wants, and destroy it if he wants. It is easy to poison an animal in one day, but it is also in our hands to love it and save it from the torment of wandering the streets. So should you choose the latter? Let's give them life ...
I remembered that I had read about it somewhere. Experts have proven that dogs have souls, which is why in some countries they are allowed to enter temples.
I was once again convinced of this. By noon, more than 700 big dogs, ranging in size from man to cat, saw us for the first time, but did not pounce or bark. They feel and know that only good people can come here. The dogs surrounded us until we left. The dogs, to which there was a little more affection, followed and escorted us all the way to the car.
